Google Chrome overtakes Internet Explorer in usage... for one day.

Safari looks great on Mac; it is ugly on Windows though...
but so is everything else.

Chrome needs to steal the Download popover:

So Chrome is better than Firefox?

One of the things I still like about Firefox is that it has its own Internet connection settings, so you can use it with a proxy while all the other apps on your computer use the default settings.

Chrome (like Safari and IE) uses the computer's network settings -- unless that's changed or there's a way around it.

I use IE at work for literally one thing: ensuring that coded websites render properly in IE (when I've already seen how they look in Chrome and Firefox).

I hate it.

edit: By the way, 1 out of ever 4 or 5 times, some element does require a code tweak just to look the same way in IE :P

Same here. Can't wait till after this summer when I can drop IE7 support.

The first thing I do when I am on a PC without Chrome at work... is install Chrome.

Hate IE.

I have to use IE at work because our web-based exchange mail is shit when used in FF or Chrome, and some websites I use at work simply don't work in anything but IE. And goddamn is IE shit. If I could have a browser with the speed of Chrome and all the extensions of FF, it would be the best thing ever.

Oh, holy crap, that annoys me to no end, because I occasionally need to open up multiple browser profiles each with different proxy servers (no, not for anything illegal). "opera -pd newprofilename" is a great, simple way for starting up a new profile.

IE is my porn browser.

Historically, browsing porn has been IE's weakest point due to its security holes. I'm sure it's better at that, but it was incredibly bad for a long while.

I tried to use Chrome but it forces the HTML5 player in YouTube and it is awful compared to the Flash one. So I'm stuck with Firefox.

Funny thing is that was Spring Break time for a lot of colleges, I know mine still uses that relic IE 8. I wonder how much of an impact that had on the stats. I see Chrome usage peaks on weekends, but even then, a lot of the people who live on-campus use it.

Either way, this success is absolutely amazing. Google's push for excellence and their brilliant marketing is the dual factors in Chrome's huge, and well deserved success.
