Google gets Anal: I AM NOT A VERB

That is so not true that it deserves to be pointed out. Google's name becoming a word does not make it any less a trademark. A trademark protects the use of a word or group of words ONLY within trade and only for a particular use. Having people say that they are 'googling' for some porn does absolutely nothing to the trademark, its validity, nor its restriction of use by other businesses in that trade.
Exactly. They just have to make an effort to protect their name within trade. ie: Tell advertising agencies for companies not to say in their commercials to "google" their company/product.

Google needs to mail itself a letter. They ENDORSED the Pontiac commercial.

Maybe we should just change the meaning of the verb. So for example:

I googled yo mama last night.

Or.

I just googled in my pants.

There are too many people posting in this thread and not reading what others have been posting. Learn to read instead of just throwing your ignorant, foolish opinion out there.

Google does not want other companies to be able to use their name. Once it becomes accepted in common language, it can no longer be trademarked.

Who gives a ****. I hope people, including other companies, start using google since the word has already become generic. Sucks to be Google!

I use google as a verb all the time now. And i'm proud of it. No piece of crap company is going to tell me how I use the english language.

... you haven't been reading this thread, have you?

I understand the purpose of this, but with google listed as a verb in the dictionary, is it not too late? What exactly determines "genericide"? Does it have to be ruled by a court?
