I just read on another board that it basically did nothing. The official word was it was "preperation" for future updates. Weird.

The rumor is that it really was just a security update due to recent mods people have been making progress on. They're definitely trying to keep a step ahead of the pirates.

No, it's a patch for the patch that is a patch for future patches. This saves time, because you only have to download one more patch after that, which unlocks the final patch.
