Gran Turismo 6 • E3 2013 details & information

GT Planet said:
During the Racer X competition finals at E3, Sony revealed the release date for the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 6 demo which will host this year’s GT Academy: Tuesday, July 2, 2013.
The demo will be available to download from the PlayStation Store. After speaking with an SCEA representative at E3, GTPlanet can independently confirm the demo will contain only Nissan cars, as they are obviously the sole sponsor of the competition.

Shouldn't be too much of a surprise as it's a GT Academy product.

AI cars seem to load in really fast in this video :O

Also the yellow "REPLAY" text really reminds me of Initial D Arcade Stage.

And that video shows there's 16 slots available for the car grid so it should put a stop to the 6 car limit theory.

- The new rendering model allows better performance.
They said that 60 fps was always on during the trial they had... it is also true that it was only one car...

- Standard cars will be in the game. A new 'upscaling' system will make them closer to the premium ones.

- Damages are still a question mark. As we know an issue is that some manufacturer does not allow to have 'their' cars wrecked...

- Sounds improvement is a top priority for PD.

If the Italian guys got it right, it was said that PD (or Sony) is thinking to implement a 'feedback' system, so that people will be able to promptly indicate which are the major issues in their opinion.

FFS, why can't PD employ a community manager like almost every other big game company out there? Especially PD since they seemed absolutely clueless when GT5 released and had to spend years and countless updates fixing the thing. Please, everyone, tweet Kaz to hire a community manager.

He spent some time setting up the aids so the cars loaded on the background. It already works like that in GT5 now. They might still be improved but it's hard to tell with just 6 cars on the grid.

Either way they are definitely hiding the loads in a much better way now. Almost feels like there are none.

someone needs to press kaz on the number of events

this shit needs to be at least gt4 level and loaded to the brim with a-spec stuff to do

They listened pretty much to all feedback and patched the game based on it. Even the little things. That meant they do listen so I don't see why they need a community manager just to promote the game and be useless at anything else as are all CM.

Indeed. And let me swap out with Bspec on the endurance races you bastards!

What's that? I can't hear you over the vacuum cleaners. ;)

There are a few good ones but I really hate it when they pick and choose what they want to respond to and totally avoid (or worse - fail to acknowledge) burning issues that are tearing up the forums, then suddenly appear in a puff of smoke to make some random response to a positive comment before disappearing back into the ether again.

I know they have to be very careful in what they can and cannot say but I really wish they'd at least stop lurking, be more visible on the forums, and at least let us know that our comments are being passed on and that our thoughts and suggestions are noted and appreciated.

They should have shown Bathurst a E3. Willow Springs, while being a great track, is bland and lacks the exotic/heroic nature of Bathurst.

A good CM does more than that, they are the conduit between the fans and devs. They patched the game after release, yes, once it received a lukewarm critical reception and a flood of complaints because in many ways it was a huge disappointment. Had they been discussing things with fans before it might not have turned out such a mess. Hiring a CM is not going to hurt so I don't see the problem.

What good CM does this? All I've seen are CMs answering the questions that make the game looks good, ignore all the others and pimp their DLC releases.

Also GT5s problem was that it released too soon because of Sonys pressure. And your a fool of you think they wouldn't make the same patches if it got great reviews. The game was touted as every evolving even before it was released by Kaz. " The launch is just the starting point"

Two things struck me about this video:

1) 3:25 he switches to the 'roof' cam which many people mistake for a hood cam. It's still too high to be a proper hood cam. But then at 5:11 he's cycling through replay cameras and switches to another roof cam that is even higher and more obviously a roof cam. I don't remember if this was available in GT5 replays? Either way I just can't understand why they have TWO cameras overlooking the hood that are too high (not at the driver's eye line).

2) The shadows still suffer from low res aliasing problems from many angles, but they're certainly doing something different with them because sometimes they look fantastic - look at the way they pan over the interior from 5:44 to 5:55. Soft edges, jaggy-free.

It is. It's also 30fps with motion blur while the other one isn't.

I was talking with a friend and he guess PD dropped the resolution to have better graphics... 1280x1080 (GT5) to 1280x720.

Do you guys things that is possible? I tried to change the GT5 resolution in my PS3 and the game get a little worst in 720p... I really prefer 1080p.

The videos in 60fps are really crazy BTW... thanks ;)

From what Kaz has said nothing has changed in terms of resolution. It just sounds like they've gone back and started looking into what was causing the performance problems in GT5 and started removing them or finding ways to fix them. He's said that the new engine is much more flexible and easy to use than the one in GT5, so it shouldn't be too hard for them to fix those issues.

Hopefully it means that standing starts are back.

How can this still be an issue when all other driving games have damage modelling for whatever cars are available? Sounds like a bullshit excuse.

Some manufacturers allow more damage than others so all games are forced to either tone down the damage to keep it consistent with the lowest they are allowed or leave out manufacturers completely so they can have huge wrecks.

There's no easy answer. Personally I'd rather have no damage and a wider selection of cars than a smaller selection but bullshit damage modelling (see Forza 5 trailer where a car gets t-boned at full speed and it just leaves a few scuffs down the paintwork).

So does this looks a lot better than GT5?

Also, are they any YouTube tutorials to obtain gold medal on all licenses for a trash player like me?

Thanks... I hope they not change the resolution but I will buy it anyway :)

Are you using a DualShock or wheel?

No.
