Gran Turismo 6 gamescom trailer and info blowout (Release date: Dec. 6th)

mhhhhhhhhhh it was a very nice trailer. And given i will very likely not buy the PS4 before the middle of 2014.. i think i will jump on board. If my GTA V hunger is stilled.

edit: beside the choppiness of the GT6 Demo, i liked the car feeling most the time. so that´s a big plus. Can Polyphony pls steal Project Cars Sounds^^

Really happy about the online details. Looking forward to more info in the upcoming months until release. Hopefully the GPS feature makes an appearance before December.

I don't think PD specifically said "200 new cars". They just said "1200 cars" which doesn't really mean anything, because the amount coming over from GT5 is 1128. With the 29 new cars that brings it to 1157 so they really only need 43 more to reach 1200. But PD are not counting standard -> premium conversions as new so hopefully we'll get a good amount of premium models. I'm sure the final count will go well into the 1200s too.

Had to check and make sure, but Kaz did say there's 200 more new cars. :)

RGB: Could you please share with us the car roster?

Yamauchi: GT6 will have 200 new cars more than GT5. There are premium cars, but we are not going to differentiate between premium and standard cars anymore when we move on to GT6 because we aim to get rid of all the functional differences between the two. They will now have the same functions. More or less anyway.

Proper cockpit views in standard cars, then?

Wishful thinking :P

Will wait for rumoured PS4 version next year. Didn't buy 5 because it was so slow to load everything but this is looking great.

I like how this is a PS3 game that almost looks better than Driveclub with a better framerate to boot. Polyphony are great devs.

Can someone explain how this gps thing is supposed to work, how are they gonna record real world data to transfer to the game? Phone app maybe that uploads your data to the game servers?

This looks crazy. Unfortunately I don't have a racing wheel, any decent ones under $80? Been looking at that Logitech GT or whatever and it looks nice, but it is out of my range.

One of the reason is that they are rendered in bigger resolutions and downscaled to 1080p... there are more post-filters too (AA).

Awesome. What a terrible, flat track.

Because it's not real gameplay. Just photo mode.

Still Day One though. GT6 is one of 3 games keeping me in this gen for a long time coming.

Ehh not talking about graphics and such. More like presentation and music, they just nail the feels

I don't have a massive amount of faith in the car number count, especially after GT5's antics of doubling up cars with different regional names.

I think it will be all GT5 cars plus the new ones announced to GT6... so ~1200.

OP. I found the Vision Gran Turismo ideia fantastic... the automotive manufacturers creating new concept cars to GT will be great.

I did a quick count of the track locations and we are actually at 35 with 66 variations. So we're over our original GT6 location count by 2 with 1 more left to be announced, and under the variation count by 5.

Some possible new variations:

Suzuka West Course
Monza Junior
Silverstone Stowe Circuit
Willow Springs Horse Thief Mile
Streets of Willow Springs
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit

I didn't read the OP, just looked at the pictures and I'm getting unreasonably hyped for this. It's probably the only console exclusive game I care about. Goddamn. I need this now. Dec 6 is a huge disappointment and I don't think I want to live through the terrible hype phase again, that accopanied the GT5 launch, but still.

I need this.

what the hell was up with the terrible music in the second half of the trailer? it really brought it down for me.

The tracklist is just depressing, they should have gutted all the shit from the returning GT5 tracks and replaced them with the tracks they're holding back for DLC.

GPS track creation is dead in the water, no mention what so ever on the website :(

Judging by the GT5 launch, we'll have lots of speculation, mistranslations, misinterpretations (not only fed by Kaz, but also the unofficial community managers), lofty dreams and then after the launch we'll find out what it really is.

I also say good riddance to the Top Gear track. Easily one of the worst parts in GT5.

TG track is useless for racing, but can be pretty fun when doing time challenges, especially in a reasonably priced car.

It's a good business move from Sony. Even if GT is a system seller it'll never get as many sales on PS4 as it would on the PS3. Besides that Sony will most probably sell out all the PS4s they can produce in the first months anyway.
So there is no need to push this onto PS4 right now. Aside from that I think they need the guaranteed instant high sales on PS3 to finance a GT6 and GT7 for PS4 with still making enough Profit.

Damn it. Sony need to get on dat der Gikai streaming for PS3 because I cannot hook up both PS3 and 4. Simply have no space.

.. I think they need the guaranteed instant high sales on PS3 to finance a GT6 and GT7 for PS4 with still making enough Profit...

Last 20 million games they've sold in this generation (GT5:P, GTPSP and GT5) are still financed from GT3's 2001-2003 profits.

PD spends approx. 10M$ annually for last couple of years, approx. twice as much they did prior to this generation. Licensing costs and marketing are 100% funded by Sony as publisher and have nothing to do with PD offset.

GT6 is also more-less funded by GT3 profits.

They still haven't touched GT4/Tourist Trophy money -and money they've earned in this generation with 20 million games they've sold will grow bigger once GT6 sales comes into picture.

Do not worry, Kaz has everything covered.
