Ok to get it out of the way, everyone complaining, the only thing I can understand is the forced always-online, without which the game is unplayable. The rest, I really don't know if people played this game at all or are jumping on the bandwagon of hate because of GTS and no single player at that time. GT7 has a hefty single player mode, you have all features from previous GTs like tuning parts, changing oil, washing cars, buying used cars and now buying legendary cars. You can't complete certain goals until some of those cars go on sale because they are not under the regular Brand Central, making you login every week to check if its finally available so you can complete your collection. Single player is progressive so you actually work towards something versus just randomly enter a race with one car and finish the game like that. Licenses are challenging, besides the MENUs for progression you have a ton of side races, similar to those endurance races.
I can totally understand if GT is not your cup of choice over another game but I keep reading how "im waiting for a real GT with single player". Did you even play GT7? Someone mentioned Forza Horizon....in that game you don't even have to win to progress. You literally mow through fences, not even stay on track, you lose and you still get to progress forward. Also GT7 looks so damn good. Again, I feel like most are still stuck on GTS...GT7 is a single player experience through and through. Theres some parts Im not a fan of as far as the game goes but compared to previous installments, its on par with them. GT4 is still the pinnacle for me. GT7 is a way better and complete game than GT5 and 6 combined. GT5 being the worst in the series.
