He bought the ****ing horse armour.

I'm making a motion here: anyone who bought the ****ing horse armour should get permabanned. They ****ing ruined gaming for the rest of us.

You want to extend that to include anyone thats ever purchased an Everquest or Ultima Online item on Ebay?

Where do you think all this started?

Please, no MS employees should be in here complaining about microtransations.

For real...

They should be here taking notes though. There are some definitely lines that should never be crossed regarding microtransactions.

When I play King of Fighters, I typically use the same five or six characters. So does that mean I have no need for having those others 30+ characters, and it's okay to charge me to be able to use them should I want to?

If they did that, KOF games would easily cost over $300!

...oh.

Anyway, I don't really believe this GT HD stuff.

Will we some Sony Defense Force resignations?
Shit, I thought I was smack-dab in center of the SDF but now I find myself out on the outer fringe ready to bolt. :(

Bad things is, where the **** would I bolt to?

But as gofreak said, send a message to them and don't buy it. I'm a GT whore and there's no way i'm buying this if its true. They can keep it. And when the sales are low they'll know not the pull the same shit with GT5.

Correctomundo!

LOL! 3 screenshots of a game no one has seen publicly and you are condemning Forza 2, and yet you are defending your company that just admitted that it is going to charge people out the ass so they can finish the incomplete game that is put on shelves. Priceless.

Tell me about it Denogginizer. I just said that I wasn't going to be buying this but that means i'm actually defending it. That's one hell of a defense is it not?

Given how Forza 2 looks can you blame him?

Well, to be fair, we haven't seen GTHD Premium yet. :)

Anyway, you and the majority of GAF can boycott all you want, but you just KNOW that this is going to make tons of cash for PD and it's not going away.

I seriously hopes nobody supports this. This is flat out ridiculous. Didn't they say that you can buy new game modes too? Charge ten bucks more, remove content from the game, and resell it online.

I figure the Japanese audience is kinda familiar with these types of tranactions, just look at all the crazy arcade card trading games there and you'll get the idea. Tons of people spend all kinds of cash on those games (such as Gundam, horse racing, Initial D, etc.)

GT HD is one of those games that might try to bring that experience home via online in terms of collecting (they also have that card collecting game coming out too). Whether this stuff carries on as a trend for future games (such as GT5) depends on whether GT HD does a lot of sales online. Remember Sony is also trying to do a similar thing with their PS3 SingStar online as well.

What's interesting is the rare, limited cars that will be sold online...quite a way to hype up online sales, heh.

TTP thats the most pathetic Sony spin i've ever heard. GT is all about the wealth of cars and tracks that allow so many different styles of racing. GTFO with that bullshit.

Just what I was thinking.

Aw Shit, wait till EA gets wind of this news. Madden fans are gonna get it in the ass next year, hardcore. Possibilities are endless with this buisness model!

The same here.

As a fan of the series since day one, I am now getting off the ride.

bad ass scans/

I don't know if these are the proper scans or not, but they looked new to me..

Good lord man...I think I see premium in those shots! Now scans can make a game look better than it actually does but pffftt amazing!

Complete game, of course. :P Tracks, custom kits, 300+ paintable cars, online features, etc.

Doesn't stop us from doing DLC add-ons later a la PGR3 to keep the game alive. You know how it works.

Again, I think GTHD Classic is intended to force players to specialize in a handful of cars and tracks and racing styles. Should make the online space very interesting. I'm only worried that those with lots of $$ can just buy all the best shit and ruin the competitive experience online.

why are arne and che trolling in this thread? you feel insecure now?
no offense though

Finally online GT goodness.

Cars a la carte is a big nono.

When the game comes out, it whould be reviewd based on what you get with the disc and without all the extras. Just to teach Sony a lesson.

simply greedy.

hehe this pretty f$%ed up and what is even worse is that this model is basically a beta test for what we can expect of GT5. So if Sony make a lot of money from GT4: HD using this kind of method, then I think people are going to be really dissapointed when GT5 hits the shelves.

The disgusting thing about this, is that Sony can package 20 cars/10 tracks/etc and sell it at a reduced cost and people will claim "It's a great value! Sony is practically giving it away!"

That's what is insidious about this pricing shell game.

Top row obviously. There are also car models in the magazine.

how is that trolling? competitive balance is a legitimate concern.

The only DLC I've purchased is for Oblivion, and that's because the game comes loaded with unbelievable amounts of content in the first place. As well, it's an extradordinary game. The extra $10 was well warranted for a favorite game. And as such, it was only $10, if even that.

So the comparisons of horse armor to this are unwarranted. Sony's taking it to another realm of ass-rapageness.

I'm going to quote myself:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harker:
k all you bloggers... get to blogging.

Start a massive grassroots gaming movement to boycott that GT crap, so all these self-important business men who are trying to ruin gaming get the message. I hope no one buys that version. Rally, hardcore, rally.

C'mon, get to work. Get this off GAF, hit uhh, Newsweek or soemthing.

If you payed like 10$ or 20$ for KOF (or maybe just downloaded if for free) yes. What's the problem, just buy those extra characters and u will reach the standard retail price.

+ Gran Turismo HD: Classic is what adopts the GT:HD playable demo at E3 and meant to showcase the online aspect. A race is done with about 20 cars. Apparently this version starts with no cars or courses. You download a car for 50 - 100 yen (0.43 - 0.85$) and a course for 200 - 500 yen (1.71 - 4.26$). Over 750 cars and 50 cars are available for purchase. Users can define race events freely and can hold online race events by themselves.

What the shit is this?
This is shit. What?
Shit is what this?
What the shit this is!
The shit is this what?

There are no combination of words that can describe this.

Yes, everyone lash out at Che and Forza because you just got bitch slapped by your daddy. I guess misplaced anger is the only way to deal with such a sudden screw over.

acousticvan said:

explain how they are trolling and how their reaction is different from anyone elses please.

thx

This is nowhere near the standard retail price. Buying all of the cars and the tracks separately will nearly run you the cost of a PS3 itself.

These microtransactions are a way of boiling the frog slowly so to speak. It seems cheap up front, but you end up paying much more in the end. What's next? You have to purchase "virtual tokens" to play fighters?

Having access to a large variety of cars is what makes GT for me. I love trying out cars that I normally wouldn't, or didn't even know existed. What a slap in the face. Yet somehow I can't keep myself from laughing :lol Releasing a racing game without cars or tracks, kudos to PD for reinventing the genre once again :lol

That ain't competitive balance. They're trying to say GT is bad.

GT is awesome. Making people buy cars, tracks, and upgrade parts because your game has none packed-in is terrible. Duh.

I'm not buying the "it's cool because you only have to buy what you want" justification, because now there's no way for you to try and experiment with new things and configurations without having to pay for it. and something tells me that all MT sales will be final.

My anger is placed in just the right spot and that's by this being the first GT's released in the US that i'm not going to buy. But che has been shooting off at GT long before this even happened. That's why when he wasn't posting in the F2 thread someone said "Quick bump a GT thread".

Because it's an incredibly uncompelling, dunderhead, blatantly fanboy sort of argument?
