The app was just recently updated with the following message of preparing for language settings! This means the famed English language setting! Also I just updated the apk myself and the icon is in English now instead of Japanese. CyGames had been awfully quiet, they might just roll this out without any announcement, so that's why I'm posting this.

Did they go into the details on how they will do English language?

Just menus stuff? or actual story text as well?

I'd imagine story would be included. There was a newspost a couple months back about the translator doing the comics that come out online as well.

Yes, that's what Lyrias note is for.

And yeah with the January update, they showed the first 4koma translated into English

How easy is it to install it on Android/iOS? Do I need to access Japanese AppStore?
Windows Phone here so I need to get new one for this.

Game runs pretty shittily on phones, just run it in Chrome on a computer like most people. If that's an option for you anyway.

Definitely, but will the browser version get the English patch too?
It's one and the same. Plays fine on phones actually if you turn off real time battle notifications.

That said, the best way to play Granblue is via the Chrome App. It is iOS/Android/PC RPG :D

Is this game actually any good? All I've heard about is was news about its horrible IAP practices.
It's one of the most generous of the mobile gacha games out there. SSR rates are 3 %. But even then you can get by with Srs. Thing is, it's your weapon pool that determines your performance. The only way that's improves is with time. It's nicknamed grindblue fantasy for a reason. Events back to back, they give away ingame premium currency very often as well.

Not just that, it's a real premium experience. Triple A production values with the art and music. Fully voiced and featuring almost every major talent out there.

The IAP scandal was a case of misadvertising.

I wanted to install the Android version a while ago...but the amount of rights and access the app wanted to have was a bit too much for me, especially compared to other f2p games so i didnt install it.

Still great news for GAF-GBF.

This is great news.

With the English language option being added, I hope they make the app available on Global app stores, just so I don't have to manage two separate Apple ID accounts to keep everything updated. I've been wanting to try this game for a while. I re-rolled a while back (settled on a Bahamut SSR summon account), now I'm just waiting for the English release to actually...you know..."play".

Got Cagliostro while rerolling a while ago and can't wait to actually start playing. This game seems too complicated to play casually in Japanese.

You can play through android chrome without installing the app (I started an account this way, using my tablet): http://gbf.game.mbga.jp/

Alternatively, you can use that through desktop chrome as well, more info here: https://granblue-wiki.com/index.php?title=Rerolling (setting up chrome section).

hi, does it mean the game will be release globally? or do we download the japanese version and change the language settings there?

Hmm, alright. If it does end up being released in the west I'll give it a go.

So for phone play it's preferable to use the chrome browser app over the game app itself?

Yes it is ultimately a Japanese mobile game. But there's ways around it that don't involve money
I remember people saying the stamina system in Final Fantasy Record Keeper was quite forgiving. But I found it really annoying. I would have paid £30 in order to remove the limit because I did enjoy the game. But after about 2 months of playing regularly I had enough and decided I couldn't play another game with Stamina. Oh well.

You can farm stamina pots from coop or from the casino. I hope you love poker and bingo!

Casino is free to play provided you have medals.

Cross-posted for folks. Our very own Azusa has been digging into the game via developer mode

English names found in code and more

One step closer.... But I don't like what I see. wtf localized this.

At least on GW names.

Some stuff Azusa found

Katalina description :

,"comment_en":"Lyria's bodyguard, and a girl with a mysterious past. She has let fly a banner of rebellion against the Empire, and is by turns Lyria's loyal retainer and her loving older sister."

Vampy description (now named Vania

"comment_en":"This young princess of the night now dances freely through the bright blue sky, a broad grin plastered on her face. Her capriciousness causes a lot of trouble for those around her. Still, her innocence warms the hearts of her comrades, unraveling the ancient chains that bind her people."

"name_en":"Cagliostro"
"comment_en":"This supreme genius and pioneer of alchemy transcended time by making herself into an immaterial being. Awakened from her age-old seal, she is now re-enlightening the world according to her own whims."

Absolutely, you can play it via Chrome or with the App. I use the ChromeApp personally whenever possible.

WAT!? My hype for this game just intensified. Everytime the OT bumps my heart skips a beat...and now you're telling me I can play this game in Chrome!?

Finally got a new phone too. Now I can throw my money confidently since my phones performance isn't ass anymore.

Does this game run badly on mobile or something?

Also, can you play on your desktop and switch over to your phone? or would that be too much of a hassle?
