In the new issue of PSM Spain (via GTA4.net) Rockstar has released information on Grand Theft Auto IV's multiplayer modes. In total the game will have 15 (that's right, 15) different multiplayer modes. Each mode will support up to 16 players online while using the world map from the single player game (holy hell). Your online avatar will be fully customizable from race, hair, sex, clothing, etc.

The 15 different online modes include the likes of Race, Bomb the Base, Cops n Crooks, and Mafia Work to name a few. While some are obvious, others like Cops n Crooks has one team as the cops, the other as criminals. The cops must stop the criminals who they can monitor on their GPS, but the crooks have nothing to tell them where the cops are.

Mafia Work has you doing jobs you receive through your cell phone (in-game of course) as mafia hit men. All the while trying to finish the job before your rivals finish it.

A bevy of tried and true plus new original multiplayer modes has certainly help to cement GTAIV as the most in-depth GTA to date. Here's hoping April 29th gets here soon.
