Basically this.

They have always done this, especially in the HD era. They would have a character trailer, a "world" trailer (showcasing the city they're in), and then they would do the gameplay trailer close to release. The only difference with GTAV/RDR2 was that they added the GTA/RDR online trailers to show off that specific gameplay. I don't see it changing for this release either. I keep telling people this is how Rockstar does trailers, and no one seems to want to listen to me in this regard. So far, I have been 100% correct. Nothing has changed.

I think there is truth to diminishing returns.

GTA VI's budget is rumored at $2,000,000,000. The next most-expensive game is Cyberpunk (including Phantom Liberty) plus marketing at $400M. It took a 5x investment over CP to get to what we see in this trailer.

Having said that, Clair Obscur looks fantastic and had a budget of maybe ~$50M.

So I dunno 🤷‍♂️
 
Honestly, the only thing I'm not feeling is Jason's voice. It sounds off, as if it doesn't suit him. Which is odd, that's a first for me with a Rockstar game.

I think it's mostly down to certain developers just knowing how to take advantage of the hardware. As you said, E33 likely had a comparatively tiny budget, and only 30-some people worked on the game. Despite that, it's one of the best looking games out this year, and runs nigh perfectly on console. The hardware is clearly capable of outputting insane results.
 
Game looks incredible but that's no surprise considering it's Rockstar, I just hope the gameplay has evolved a bit from the standard shooting gallery missions.
 
The bubbles in the beer bottle is typical rockstar level of insane attention to detail. No wonder these mfers only making 1 game every decade now

This trailer is "in-engine" stuff. It's not really clear from this what their priorities are. While I'm sure it will look good I wouldn't expect gameplay to look like this outside of cutscenes.

It's almost as if we don't have every one of their games to draw from. Since the cut-scenes are in real time.

Looks good but i wish there was some color grading for this trailer. As it stands the game doesn't have much color identity imo.

im a sucker for that kind of stuff so the more the merrier

I mean you can hook up devkit to a pc, boot the game and do all kinds of fuckery to improve the graphics and that's still technically in engine running on real ps5 hardware... not saying they necessarily did it but these shots look wayyy too crisp if you get my drift.

Also, sure, there are white Hispanics in Europe. With this game being based more in the equator region of America, I would assume that South American would be the predominant demographic here. That, and she's very clearly and distinctly not white. We don't need to pretend that this is not the case. But hey, Caminos as a last name could've come from Italy, so she must be italian.

Can't say much else about it yet.

Except that I can't stop hearing Joel whenever the guy speaks. That's Troy Baker right?

Wtf are you even saying, how does GTA VI silence anything about diminishing returns? I don't think you understand what it means.

The phrase means you are getting less improvement for the same amount of work as before, which is absolutely true. It doesn't mean you can't improve.

Looks gorgeous but the trailer itself was kinda boring. Nice trailer to pick apart and see what R* is delivering.
Jason's voice sounds a little weird to me. Obviously R* knows their casting and VA. I trust them.
Lucia is gorgeous. I need a nice latina for some summer fun in my life.
 
Imagine just exploring this map, walking from Vice City to the keys to mount kalaga to grass rivers to ambrosia and more.

I cannot wait!
 
Level of detail is insane. Killing hookers in this game might feel icky at first since they look so real, but I'll get over it

I feel like I recognize this guy's voice from a hundred games over the years, but I can't think of anything specific. Pretty sure it's definitely not Troy Baker.

EDIT: Right after I posted, I realized- he sounds just like Nolan North. But there's no way it's him.

I really hope the Amunation dude is Phil Cassidy, so it ties in SD and HD eras, then we might get Tommy Vercetti…… but I know that's wishful thinking.
