Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Just a little zinger to all the people who think only ue5 run like shit on base console.
I think someone needs to look at the software rt in games like starfield, kcd2, bond and avatar (on non rt gpus) and see how they compare against ue5. Maybe its the nanite or megascan materials making light bounce look better but i think software lumen looks more like rtgi than the software rt we have seen in these games.

lol enjoy. It may not be a technical showpiece but it's definitely a very good game with great writing, acting and some hot ass eye candy. I'm like an hour in and I've already had three hotties show up. I thought this game was supposed to be woke lol
If you could see my last 20 games played on steam you would know that less than optimal graphic has never been a reason to not buy a game for me, the opposite is true, hb2 is the graphic king and i never bought it because i dont like the game.

If i can get a 7\10 streamlined (hopefully not too much) but more varied hitman with similar uncharted production values\combat but without 10 hours of forced walking and climbing out of this thing, i'm gold.

Hopefully the game is not too easy.

The PS5 Pro is the beta for advanced RT paired with the latest PSSR on console. PS6 is going to produce on par visuals with a AAA, advanced RT game running at DLSS quality mode on an RTX 4090. The results they're already getting from a console with 5x less RT performance (than PS6) is already astounding.
The PS5 Pro is easily capable of handling rt raytracing and hardware lumen, etc. I would argue it's even capable of handling PT with fewer bounces and 900p~ish res and 30/40fps mode upscaled with pssr2. The hardware isn't being utilized completely due to games primarily being PS5-focused, which is anemic rt tech, and even they aren't exactly being optimized at a granular level after seeing the Linux benchmarks on the thing basically running the same or worse than a Linux build. Sony has just started working on rt tech on their internal pipeline, and I don't see any reason why Ray reconstruction could not have been implemented in Crimson Desert in the 30/40fps mode, keeping the same settings instead of wasting a major portion of frame resources on running native 4k.

I expect the ray reconstruction to be added later to their PS5 Pro suite, even AMD could do much better at utilizing RDNA4 for path tracing, because the hardware is actually pretty capable, but they are so far behind in R&D that they just managed to get RR onto RDNA4. Ps6 and RDNA5 are path tracing and ai focused where they seem to be finally standing on even ground with Nvidia in terms of software features and hopefully a portion of the optimizations and progress trickles down to RDNA4 and PS5pro because currently the diesize focus on delivering the 300TOPS seems very wasteful and underutilized for a console, seeing the hardware cost for FSR4 is nowhere near that heavy so Im assuming its going to try to target some of the features from the ps6 builds.

You can remove the UI in real time, so if you dont want markers you dont even need to go to the menu to remove parts of the HUD
I'll give you 007 as the latest AAA example where you can't...
I hate this so much, especially considering this is a IOI game and coming after Hitman where you can customize pretty much every assist, the downgrade is baffling.
And the lack of Path Tracing sucks, the game has so much potential in the visual department but not like this...

These are minor nitpicks in the grand scheme of things and I'm having fun enough that I can't put it down but still.

Some really good looking stuff in here, instead.

And smoke looks awsome, compared to those 2D smokebomb crap in the Hollow video. The fight in the storm at the end is EPIC.

They really gotta find a fix for their diffuse lighting. Everything with direct light looks nice though. Just that everytime a character is in shadow, it looks so jarring.

This is the best video i saw of this game graphically speaking.

Even the colors dont look as bright and yellowish like all the others.

Water interactions still look like shite tho.

Best looking in game character model this gen. Aloy finally has some company.

I always play everything on max difficulty :messenger_smiling:

P.s. i doubt he looks better than requiem leon or senua but i save judgement until i play the game tomorrow.
