Gravity Rush 2 coming to NA, Gravity Rush Remastered is digital only

Thank god for subs.

Not sure what "Even" means in this post, since GoW is many, many times more popular than Gravity Rush.

Especially in NA.

Hopefully GR2 comes to NA in 2016

it's not like they have so much voice acting to worry about. it's just test translation.

2016 is gonna be good!

kii, and some people called the poor OP of that other thread paranoid.

Oh well. Sad to see Sony also serving Gravity Rush the same brew that Nintendo gave to FFV.

=/

First Fatal Frame, now GRR. Shit sucks, but oh well. If I really want that physical copy, I can just import the European version (provided they're getting a physical release). At least it's $30, so the price is pretty good.

It's not really news that SCEA has a policy against individual retail releases of remasters.

...oh, duh, forgetting about GoW III and Last of Us. Never mind!

At least it's 29.99. Had they said digital only at kept the 39.99 price I would have shook my head in disappointment. Thankfully for those who want retail, getting a copy should be pretty easy. I'm guessing the bomba of Tearaway on PS4 probably led to this in NA.

Pretty sure that re-release bombed.

GR will too.

I dunno, I just feel like we're really lucky to get this at all. Hard to complain about not getting it in a specific format.

I thought I saw that in the gameplay, the character suddenly looked heavier.

I don't know if I like it or not but is interesting to say the least.

I mean that stronger gravity should make her faster, while weaker gravity should make her slower. :P

Reminder that this is what Japan gets in limited quantities.

OMG, are you serious? Hell, I don't care if this was the only way to get the retail version, I'd gladly buy an US version of that LE, & I platinum'd the Vita version including all the bonus DLC.

Hearing all the DLC from the Vita version is included for free was nice to hear, but $30 for igital only? Eeehhhh, I might give in when it goes on sale for about $20 or so, which considering how many times it was discounted & even was on PS+, think it'll lower in price eventually.

Why bother moving the sequel to the PS4 then? I think it's still reasonable to ask for a retail print for the PS4 remaster.

Because the PS4 sequel has potential to be marketed better. You have to ask yourself how well the 1st game even sold in NA.

They don't just make these decisions to piss off the fanbase there is usually a logical reason why they do this stuff, and it's based and the market.

This isn't going to stop anyone who is interested in the game to buy it. If you're so inclined you can import it.

Digital only is pretty weak, I think. If it could be physical on the Vita, than why not for the PS4 which has sold considerably more units?

And so did Tearaway. Not sure I fault them going for a three peat.

But it goes hand in hand with SCEA's lack of marketing for both titles. Doesn't mean they should repeat that here when they're clearly banking on the PS4 userbase to boost the series where the Vita couldn't.

Hmm. Digital does minimize the risk compared to disc but I can appreicate the disappointment. Am ok with the price though.

I see it as a lack of confidence in this franchise.

That or they did their research and projections and concluded that the cost associated with a physical release in this region wasn't worth it? They are in the business of making money. They aren't going to shutter a sure thing just to spite people. Count your lucky stars you're even getting the game. Same thing with Yakuza 5. People complain and complain that it's digital only but when the choice is digital or nothing, you should take what you can get.

But by all means, be stubborn and don't buy a game that you really want because it's digital. That'll really show Sony how popular Gravity Rush is in North America.

Ugh... that sucks. Seems like a physical copy would be better for when GR2 comes out (assuming they're going to do a physical release of that). They'd better release GR2 on disc.

Pretty sure that re-release bombed.

I understand them releasing a GOW 3 remaster on disc over Gravity Rush. GOW sold well and pushed hardware.

I'm shocked they did a physical release with Tearaway. It bombed. This will most likely do the same. You're just upset because it's something you're interested but it makes sense.

Glad to finally have some confirmation on the sequel, not that I doubted it was arriving. Too bad that the remaster is digital only, but unless I'm misunderstanding, it's getting a physical edition in Europe, isn't it? In that case, people who really want a disk can import from there; this isn't a Fatal Frame V situation. :P

SCEA continues to be garbage and shooting down their own japanese IP with absolutely no marketing so they can then blame it on the market

As someone living in the UK, it sounds like this isn't the first time SCEA has made a stupid decision; by the looks of it, there are other examples. Just curious, what are they?
