GRAW 2 Unveiled (360) Pics and Vid

For me, its not the mediocrly upgraded graphics that bother, but the lack of diversity in environments.

You could tell me this was just GRAW on the PS3 with refined textures, and I would believe you.

this is GRAW on the PS3 with refined textures. believe

This will be a franchise that benefited from being the first 3rd person shooter to really be a looker on a next gen system. The realism and the lack of diversity will make it only interesting for fans. Next time a better story please. And a better climax. Man, the ending of GRAW sucked.

lol @ psp version, can't wait to see that. :)

Well, to be fair, Rainbow Six Vegas actually looks really good on the PSP (considering it's limitations).

That reminds me, gotta get my hands on that. How was that version?

GRAW screens posted in this thread show an AA level that isn't there in the actual game
i hope GRAW2 will have AA like in the images

other than that the improvements seem subtle, but GRAW already was a great looking game

:lol @ the video... it's CG and it shows basically nothing other than the date of the actual trailer, what's the point of that?!

:)

I had an excellent time with the original GRAW. I'll be picking this up too.

Game Informer has a huge spread on this game too in its current issue. Great read for GRAW fans.

It's good to see the new digital camo on the ACU's. Graphics don't look too much better, though if the smoke's as cool as it sounds, I will say wow. Female presence in the game is a plus.

AA's absurd, I wonder how you get to be an Ubisoft Photoshop ninja, what a job that must be :lol

I cannot wait for GRAW 2. I dearly love Rainbow Six: Vegas

I have to say, I was dumb not to finish GRAW. I was too busy with Oblivion and new games came out so I caved and traded it in. I may not play it because there are just too many sweet games now and coming soon.

I do plan on playing GRAW 2. UberUbi owns me.

I bought GRAW because I loved the Rainbow Six games and I love Resident Evil 4's camera style. But sadly I never played a Recon Game before since they all get crappy scores. But this one got pretty good scores so I decided I'd give it a try.

Boy, it was really freakin hard for me to get into it. I absolutely hated the fact that the hud tells you where every freakin enemy was. Got annoying. And the guns didn't had that umph feel to it.

Needless to say, I went through the much needed tutorial level and went on to beat two more missions and never looked at it again. Maybe I'll give it a try once I beat Gears of War on all difficulties.

Maybe you should post the bigger screens so people can spot the differences.

Fix:

Maybe you should post the bigger screens so people can SEE THAT THE SUIT SOLDIERS WEAR USE UNFILTERED TEXTURES !
MY EYES !

Unfortunately i think that's the kind of optimization you can expect in such a short time; removal of features people wouldn't notice.

Well, it doesn't look too different in pics, but according to devs, graphical upgrades mostly consisted in dynamic lighting and physics (especially smoke).
I'm hoping for a more consistent framerate too.

Who cares if it looks better? GRAW looked awesome! Second to only GOW in my eyes.

QFT

I dont care if the graphics are the same, the graphics from the 1st one were omfgorgeous!

There seems to be a lot of graphic whore on this forum, whatssup with that...

My only hope is that they fix the Ai, especially squamates Ai. They were useless in the first one, I just let them die and didnt heal them.

I wonder if they'll tweak the controls some?

GRAW controls were clunky, yet tolerable. With Vegas and Gears out already, it just got a whole lot worse by comparison.

Looks better than the first game, but I was hoping for some new environments. Something with snow, or in a forest or a European city or something.

Looks a bit better, but it's still got a ton of dev time left for them to add graphical wingdings. Remember how GRAW looked even 3 months prior to release? These guys add the graphical polish last.

From the pics I saw in GI, this game looks in-effing-credible. Some of the stuff they were talking about, like the weather system, sounds awesome too. Too bad I can't see the video (stupid 56k, get highspeed mom!) but this is definately one of my most anticipated games for 2007.

Was that a joke? :lol

Needs more than four co-op maps to get my dollar.

I've had GRAW since it came out, and me and my buddy still haven't beaten all four maps !

I suppose we're just weaksauce, but still.. it's not they were tiny little shit-maps.. they were good and long.

Meh, I don't care about any graphical improvements. Ubisoft always talks about "new and improved AI" yet the end result is always the worst AI of any tactical shooter. I want some next gen AI please.

Stop fighting in Mexico

Give Red Storm the YETI engine

Clunky =! Tactical.

Give me REAL online co-op, you sluts.

i hope they'll fix the reload animation so the character actually change the clip

it's just a little detail, but it was fun trying to explain to friends who want to see the game :D :lol

:)

i dont know exactly but looking at these screens show me that they improved the texture quality on the soldiers and increased the effects on the field. Considering how good the first game looked compared to others games at the time of release (not counting fight night) i didnt think they were going to heavily improve on the visuals. I expect to see a jump like that with the next splinter cell.

Nice, but I kinda hope it'll be some time before it launches. One can only handle so much realistic shooters (bought GRAW kinda late and R6 just now).

For God's sake, PLEASE PUT ON SOME AF 2x !

I know that's what camo look like...it was a joke and a damn well played one too :P

Looks hot to me, and c'mon guys, how much diversity do you want from a game primarily set in the Middle East - Snow? Green sand? Alien-structures? It looks brown and plain because the game locale actually is brown and plain!

**** NO. NO. GRAW controls were fine. FIIIIIIINEEEEEE. Leave it the shit alone! I ****ing ruled with it, and the left right shoulder view toggle thingy was just pure tits.

I love my R6 and GoW controls, but these are all different games. Just because they are all 3rd person shooters doesn't mean they should all have the same controls.

I don't care if it looks exactly like GRAW, just give me more physics and environmental interaction/destruction. And that first screenshot looks great.

Also, please not too much Mexico this time. Between GRAW and R6Vegas, I don't need anymore desert.

It doesn't take place in the Middle East.

I didn't say change them, I said tweak them. They can keep the exact same control interface for all I care, but going in and out of cover in GRAW is slow and clunky.

Just make the transfer faster and I'm fine with it.

...and Vegas isn't a 3rdPS. :p

edit:
Matter a fact, everything in GRAW's too slow. Cover transfer, crouch/stand transfer, leaning, strafing while leaning, item menu... everything. Makes the gameplay feel like the character's gotten one too many concussions.
