Great Games that can be Finished in 4-5 hours

Rochard. Loved it. Like a simple side-ways scrolling Portal/Shadow Complex crossover. Played it in stereoscopic 3D.

Maybe it's because I've been buying most of my games as year+-old AAA titles via Steam for virtually nothing, I really appreciate a good 5-hour game these days.

Fun but doesn't drag and then it's on to the next game.

Just finished up Mirror's Edge. Playing SC: Conviction now.

To be honest, Shadows of the Damned kinda pissed me off with how short it's campaign was. First time through I beat it in about four and a half hours with no desire to ever play it again. It was a fun game (except for level 4), but I still wish I rented it instead of paying $60 for it.

You most likely won't beat Golden Axe the first time you play it, but you can probably play it a handful of times within five hours and figure out how to beat it. It's a pretty easy game for arcade belt scroll standards.

And on the console game front, there are countless if you're reasonably decent at 2D action games.

Wario Ware for the GBA. Played through that in one sitting the other night on my 3DS. I love me a short but sweet game.

I guess I would include Ys Oath in Felghana in this. Although it is probably closer to six or seven hours. But overall it is a very short little action rpg.

Bullshit. I'm 13 hours in and still haven't finished all the levels.

If you define beating the game as doing the minimum required to clear world 8 and see the end of the "story", then you can do that in about 5 hours. Took me 5.5 hours including some of the optional levels to clear the World 8 castle, and I am not amazing at platformers.

Of course, it takes quite a bit longer to go through all the special worlds.

Bastion is closer to 6-7 hours, but I agree. I started a second playthrough immediately after.

If you stick mostly with the mainline missions, Bastion is 4-5 hours.

I only did three or four of the proving grounds and The Kid's Dream in terms of side stuff, and Steam says I played it for 4.5 hours.

This thread is a godsend, I need to focus more on satisfying 4-5 AAA games and less 20-50 hour ones to help clear my backlog.

Recently I played through Outland and that was an Amazing 5 hour game. Want more tight experiences like that.

Crysis Warhead.

Warhead's only 5 hours? Ok, I should play that. Been putting off Crysis 2 until I played Warhead since I like playing stuff chronologically.

The original Onimusha on PS2 wasn't much longer than 5 hours if IIRC. Great game, even if it is the weakest of the series.

Yup, I only played the very first special stage and my Activity Log currently says 5h13m and that's with collecting all Star Medals.

I'm probably the only person in this forum that will recommend it, but:

Heavenly Sword.

The story is well written, acted, and told. The graphics are still stunning (with some of the best facial animation I've seen), and the combat it simple but fun. The characters are quirky, and the main antagonist has more personality and motivation than most video game villains (and being played by Andy Serkis doesn't hurt).

You can knock it out in roughly 5 hours.

It's one of my favorite games, despite it not being a perfect title. It was unfairly crucified in my opinion. If you can find it, it should be pretty dirt cheap these days.

I replayed RE 2 today and I beat it in 4hours and 4 min (Claire A). Hadn't played it in a while so I can confirm it's relatively short.

I paid much less than MSRP, so its brevity doesn't bother me; but I feel bad for anyone who paid $60 for it, despite the fact that it's a fun ride.

Afterburner Climax, although playing it only once is doing it wrong.

also, I still play through Metal Slug 3 now and then. It's basically a perfect game.

Lost Winds Winter of the Melodias on Wiiware, fun platformer nice improvment over the first game.

I'd still recommend the first game (simply called Lost Winds) but you can probably complete it in 2-3 hours, it was recently released on iOS platforms too.
