Darkman (1990) :

This is like Sam Raimi's first attempt at a comic book movie, while at the same time using his own original characters and story. It's early '90s, but a fun watch with some pretty cool moments. It's totally a revenge movie.


Mad Max (1979):

The original Mad Max movie from 1979. It is a bit uneven, rough around the edges and a slow burn movie. But it still has a pretty cool revenge plot to it.

I'm normally quite forgiving of book adaptations and this one ranks as one of the few that I absolutely loath. The bullshit Hollywood ending completely ruins the entire theme of the book.

The Sci-Fi Anime Adaptation was a more faithful retelling of the story.

Hell, V For Vendetta was a more faithful retelling.

I couldn't stand a single character in that movie and wished them all dead by the end. I think it's a trash film.

Which was the sole point in the end, that he became a monster himself by giving in to revenge instead of taking him into custody...

The Koreans really have this genre on lock down.

Because they don't tend to bring in a superhero who justifies his slaughters with laughable arguments.
And they tend to bring a more serious tone and characters into it.
