Greatest voice acting performances in gaming

Since it'd be stupid to get repititious at this point, given how much Legacy of Kain, Portal, and Eternal Darkness have been mentioned, I would like to offer:

I mean, come on. That laugh.

Yes! Ma Belle Pesche from Xenosaga. Crispin Freeman is a god among men.

(Partial spoilers for Xenosaga Episode I in that video.)

Oh yeah, Balthier was fantastic. The VA's performance sold me on that character.
They should have just made him the main character or something.

why the fuck do people just post pictures like everyone is going to know what character or actor you are referring to?

thats some irksome shit folks.

previously posted answers i approve of: everyone in the Portal series! and the guy who did Mordin in Mass Effect for sure. great character. also everyone in Half Life 2. Robert Culp was such a great choice.

ill add Ron Perlman for Conan.

The entire cast from Eternal Darkness. Also, the protagonist's voice actress is also the person who voices female Shepherd from Mass Effect, Naomi Hunter from MGS, and many others.

The entire cast from Portal 2.

I was also very impressed by the voice actors and actress in Odin Sphere, one of the few games where I felt that the English voices were just as good as the Japanese ones.

For those who said Charles Martinet, I wonder if you have heard his work for Shadow of Memories. This man really has some versatility, and I thought that the voice of Homunculus was really creepy.

Remember when video game VAs sucked? I mean, a lot still do, but this thread just reminds me of all the times I've honestly been impressed by them over the years.

I'm a big fan of Jennifer Hale, but she's great in all her roles, and doesn't really have one performance that's much better than her others.
So, instead I choose:

Kari Wahlgren as Elika in Prince of Persia 2008:

Kasin! Beeeg American titays!
At least Roman wasn't trying to go with the serious business route.
Also Niko speaking his mother-language.. is cringeworthy, how innatural it sounds.
Sounds like he's reading it, for the first time, from a tiny business card.

The hell? That's crazy! Faith in Bioware declining further... *cry*. Mordin was one of the best parts of whole the whole series.

Nolan North is better as Johnson than Drake :/ Well, he's better when he's not the serious protagonist.

Some mentions with illustrating images:

I could get lost in those muscles~

And yeah like Necromanti said, Charles Martinet but acting as the Homunculus in Shadow of Memories ;)

And of course, Liam O'Brien, Steve Blum, Paul Eiding, Tara Strong and many others. I love good voice actors :P

Laura Bailey is a very... unusual actor. She's like Johnny Young Bosch. When they're put into an appropriate role, they're godlike.

More often than not, however, they're shoved into roles unfit for them. Welch is a sadly fantastic example of this.

Since she hasn't been mentioned, Jen Taylor as Cortana in the Halo series. It feels great to run around a mysterious construct fighting aliens with that sardonic voice in your head. I don't think I would have enjoyed the original game nearly as much without Cortana's banter. By the ending scene she really feels like a friend. I missed her in the last three Halos.

Sickened to my very core that no one has mentioned Rolf Saxon yet. He took the role of George Stobbart in Broken Sword and made him one of the most charismatic, relatable and funniest protagonists to ever feature in a video game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Baker

Brothers in Arms (series) - Sergeant Matt Baker
Tales of Vesperia - Yuri Lowell
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 - Kanji Tatsumi

Upcoming Games I've heard him in from demos/videos
Catherine - Vincent Brooks
BioShock: Infinite - Booker DeWitt

there are some mistakes on that wiki as he does not do the voice for chris redfield.

I had no idea that was Baker as Booker in the 15 minute Bioshock Infinite demo. Now that I know it's him I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Metal Gear Solid
Team Fortress 2
Portal
Left 4 Dead
Uncharted
Max Payne
Mass Effect

"I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture!"

Goosebumps

THAT'S Bender/Marcus? Get outta here! Mind = blown. Seriously. I almost can't believe it to the point where I want to go look it up and confirm it.
