The reviews for this have been overwhelmingly positive. Damn, they pulled the trailer? Boo....
I just got back from it. I thought it was boring. Also avoided this trailer it shows some of the better parts of the movie.
I don't think it's based off that. Just inspired by it.it's based off of that old cannibal horror film isn't it? this movie is probably going to get insane controversy lol
That's pretty much what it is. Just add in some very stupid humorOkay, I had seen other trailers and I thought it looked okay, but that makes it look like a D-tier Hostel, which was already C-tier.
Cannibal Holocaust anyone?
If anything, Green Inferno is a much kinder film when it comes to animal treatment and indigenous wildlife. The worst part of Cannibal Holocaust was the REAL slayings of animals on camera.
Who knew that inside a turtle was a giant Cadbury creme egg.
Saw it last night. Did not care for it at all.anybody else seen it?
The Green Inferno’s harshest critique comes in Alejandro’s rant, “Don’t think — Act.” It’s a perfect parody of today’s progressive idiocy. Roth usually imitates Tarantino’s sadism. (Roth played an American Jewish GI who was among those who carved a swastika on a German soldier’s forehead in Inglourious Basterds — although who can determine either his or Tarantino’s personal politics?) But Roth’s outrageousness in The Green Inferno may rattle his target audience and surprise the rest. He’s scabrous and nervy enough to satirize the bastard children of Sixties revolution; The Green Inferno is worthy of B-movie genius Larry Cohen’s bastard son.
i read that cannibals tried eating the students because they thought they were part of the logging crew. is that true?Saw it last night. Did not care for it at all.
It's possible but one of the characters just says that they think their group is their enemy.i read that cannibals tried eating the students because they thought they were part of the logging crew. is that true?
so it's just thought. i guess most likely the cannibals don't care who they are and would've eaten them regardless. It's possible but one of the characters just says that they think their group is their enemy.
i read it all on wiki too and what's even dumber about it is thatRead the whole plot on Wikipedia. Sounds stupid, typical of Roth, finding an excuse to tell people that it's pointless to fight for a good cause.
so go see it! =]LoL that looks bad but I'm interested.
i read it all on wiki too and what's even dumber about it isthat the girl lies about it at the end to support their cause.
Sounds like mean spirited torture porn trash with a bonus helping of mockery directed at well meaning social justice advocates. Neat.Read the whole plot on Wikipedia. Sounds stupid, typical of Roth, finding an excuse to tell people that it's pointless to fight for a good cause.
edited.People may not want to read how the film ends on here.
Go watch out like nao! What the fuck. I drove past the movie theatre just now and this movie is out?!
yeah...it didn't have a sign saying what's now playing? What the fuck. I drove past the movie theatre just now and this movie is out?!
Wow reviewers still referencing the fucking 60s like they matter? Lol
i dont know when cannibal holocaust took place but this film very clearly took inspiration from it.Wow reviewers still referencing the fucking 60s like they matter? Lol
those aren't the exact words eli roth has used.Racist piece of cr*p: "You can't save people in other countries because they are savages that will KILL YOU!". Ironically, the opposite is the rule: any non-developed country unlucky enough to get the attention of the US, gets leveled.
You're approaching this film from the wrong perspective. The cannibals are the good guys.Racist piece of cr*p: "You can't save people in other countries because they are savages that will KILL YOU!". Ironically, the opposite is the rule: any non-developed country unlucky enough to get the attention of the US, gets leveled.
I'm pretty wary of Eli Roth projects.
Cabin Fever was entertaining, but not the genre game-changer that a lot of hipster reviewers at the time talked it up as. Hostel (and the sequel) just seemed like shock torture-porn bullshit to me.
This just looks like "Eli Does Cannibal Holocaust", but we'll see.
My brother will probably end up dragging me to it anyway.
there is an OT now?EDIT: POSTED IN OT INSTEAD.
