At this point, Fox should just make Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane part owner of the network. The writer/producer has been nothing but money for Fox, with Family Guy and American Dad successfully complementing The Simpsons and King of the Hill on Fox's Sunday nights and redefining primetime animation.

Now Fox can add a third show to the mix, says The Hollywood Reporter. The rumored Family Guy spin-off is pretty much a done deal, says the trade. Focusing on Peter Griffin's buddy Cleveland, Cleveland is expected to receive a 13-episode order at Fox's upfronts next week.

If all goes according to plan, Cleveland will debut next spring.

Cleveland likely won't be the only new toon next season. The animated reworkings of a pair of live-action shows, The Pitts and Sit Down, Shut Up, are also looking good to go.

Both projects will be handled by Simpsons vets; Mike Scully and Julie Thacker will take on The Pitts, about an unlucky family, and Josh Weinstein and Bill Oakley were recently announced as showrunners for Mitch Hurwitz's Sit Down, Shut Up, based on an Australian show about disenchanted teachers.

I really dunno about this... Ill give it a chance tho.

Do i really want to see Seth's commentary on race? He is terrible when he focuses on shit, look at American Dad.
I'm sorry but American Dad season2 and beyond is pure awesome.

It's not Meg

And he should just stick to what he's honed to a fine edge, American Dad. Pure quality.

word. I barley ever watch the new family guy eps, but I never miss American Dad.

I like American Dad, except for the Alien. Hes almost a carbon copy of the effeminate side of Stewie, which is absolutely overdone at this stage.

Fuck. This is going to replace King of the Hill, isn't it?
Not immediately, no. King of the Hill's at least set for 13 more episodes beginning early '09.

if so, they're thinking long-term. KotH has at least one more season left. i'm hoping for a few more, but the show's definitely in its twilight years

Weinstein and Oakley producing a Mitch Hurwitz show? Consider me intrigued.

Hey Hurwitz, enough with the fucking television get that A.D. movie going.

I have no idea if he is directly involved in the production of the movie, nor do I know if the movie is even in production yet, or if it's happening at all.

King of the Hill has been picked up for season 13. As good as the show is, it always seems to be on the bubble for being canceled or renewed. Their recent storylines seem to be expecting things to end at any time with Lou Anne getting married and Cotton dying.

Yeah, but the chemistry between him and Steve is really god. And he's a MacGuffin. Stan can't fight with Haley all the time.

Then again, we end up with stories like last week with Roger and Klaus inexplicably driving through Europe and then

It was almost as random as Haley getting cancer and fighting it off in the background of the Cloontang episode.:lol

Hurwitz is only executive producing this new show, the other two guys are the showrunners. As he put himself, he'll be like Ron Howard to AD.

Also, an Arrested Development movie is still only a pipe dream.
