Grid - Reveal Trailer (Codemasters racing game reboot)

Horizon is great and all, I loved the first few. I never saw it as the end all arcade racing game though.

The racing isnt that great with the open world roads just feeling wide and bland. The difficulty and progression just isn't there for solo play for me. You don't even have to win anything and get supercars like candy.

Grid can offer something different if it's more like the first one.

Here's a gameplay video:

Thanks to the mod that fixed the thread title. 👍

Hey until 2:44 that gameplay footage looked like the frist Grid game without the piss filter.

What's this piss filter rubbish some speak of?

Codemasters games always have a washed out yellowish tint to them coupled with a more bloom than any game should have.

I captured this direct from the PC version of Grid 2. When the sun is behind the car the colors look pretty normal but driving into it is like you're driving into a constant nuclear explosion.

The last Dirt Rally seemed to have toned it down, and hopefully the new grid will as well.

Don't see the problem. It's a style / aesthetic thing and it's their game. I don't mind it. Not everything has to be dull or neutral.
Maybe they were trying to capture a certain light or Atmosphere.

Looks okay. I hope there will be more city routes than real life tracks. There are enough track racers around (especially if you game on PC), I crave for a new PGR installment...

The release date has been pushed back to October 11th.

I hope Codemasters is not asking us to have more time just to implement the infamous "Always Online" feature in this game.

THIS is what I need portable on switch.. too bad I couldn't just get a gran turismo 6 port instead though.

its same just little better but same and i liked Grid back when it came out , then i tried Grid 2 , and then didint liked Autosport at all. so i just dont get it , just make new game think of something new how to surprise us , we have this stuff in PC or Forza allready and its better there , we can have those races but better looking and better handling , so i dont get this reboot or remake or what it is . its just got old, nothing new no new ideas new feeling for driving game.
and does this really looks better then their last Grid Autosport ? kinda doesnt look like its better

Predominantly static crowds with a few animations as you pass by.....Man we need good CPU's on consoles to up the ante.....Thankfully next gen will be exciting for physics and AI....

If this has split-screen I MIGHT buy it. I'm not holding my breath, though. It seems every god damn developer known to man expects you to have 0 real-life friends and only give you online multiplayer options. Pfft.

Sounds like I'm their target audience, except I don't have any online friends either.

LOL. Yeah, I don't even really play online that much. I would just rather play locally... I guess I'm in the minority.

I think Codemaster should really implement tire wear and fuel consumption leading to Pit Stops implementation.

Pumped for this game. I remember when the demo for the first grid cane out and people here were complaining about the turns-on-a-dime handling. But I loved it.

Had the chance to check out the "unofficial demo" today, and, while looking great something about the handling just rubbed me wrong, but since I absolutely loved the first GRID, I'll be getting the full version down the line.

when i tried FH3 i thought thats it that what racing sim-arcade game should be ... nothing else needed or could top that ...and by looks how this new Grid looks and plays its almost laughable compare to games like FH4 .

True. The way the new GRID plays is laughable compered to PGR2 and this game came out 16 years ago...

I kind of like that all the different racers play a little differently from each other. It makes it feel fresh going from one to another. Grid feels like Grid, I think I would be a little disappointed if it played like a different game.

Imagine the massive latency issues demonstrated in the reviews for Stadia coupled with 40 cars on a closed track in a fast-paced arcade racer. Couple that with the artifacting the stream suffers with fast moving images also shown in reviews and you've got some big problems. I can't imagine trying to do something like correct oversteer when my wheels are taking half a second to react to what I did to correct the problem. With 40 cars I can't imagine anyone will ever finished a 40 car race against other human players.

Nevermind the fact that they're claiming "only Stadia can handle 40 cars on track" when Project Cars had 56 car grids in 2015 despite being an actual sim. I'm fairly certain my hardware could handle 40 cars in Grid. It's a nice looking game, but it's really not doing anything mind blowing or cutting edge in the visuals department.
