Agreed, they're not even going all the way with the bad references. At least Tastosis acknowledges their own corny jokes.

In that last game Bomber actually had superior upgrades, with 3-3 marines and 2-2 mech, I think. Its hard to tell without the comentators actually doing their jobs but MVP was 3-2 on marines and 0-0 on mech.
