GT Prologue Pre-orders Reach One Million

wonder if this means it'll be good for GT5 or bad because everyone will get their jollies off with Prologue

I'm both amazed and disappointed that there are so many pre-orders for this.

Do people realise that it's a demo for the game and not Gran Turismo 5?

The free demo of the demo of GT5 is enough for me anyway.

I'm sure most do. GT Concept sold 1 million in Europe, and GT4 Porlogue sold over 400k. The GT love is strong with Europe.

If going by GT4 prologue and the full game, I'd say it's the former.

I would pay $60 for this even if this was the only car in the game.

12 Tracks
~60 cars
Splitscreen
12 player online
GTTV

There's more than enough content there to warrant a measly £18. Plenty of full price titles (Motorstorm being a prime example) have less content than that.

Seriously. £18 is peanuts. Bargain of 2008 games wise tbh. You'd be a fool to pass it up if you're a racing fan imo. Less than half the price of most retail PS3 games.

By the way, does anyone have a track list for the Euro version?

Couldn't agree more, plus I've bought games for double that price with less content. I know it's not the full bhoona but I know what I'm getting and it's all good. :D

If you just consider this expensive shareware then all is well.

Dude, I have a $300 dollar wheel set up. I also have plans on purchasing a 70" TV because of this game. I will take any GT, PD gives me.

AND everything you unlock and achieve carries over to the full version. So it's not like you are actually wasting your money on having to do everything again once the full product arrives.

Seriously, GT5 full version is 12+ mths away. What's £18 for that long of GT gaming? Nothing if you ask me.

Damn....that F1 car is 2 MILLION credits! :O

How am I going to save up for that? Are there proper cups (multiple races in a competition with a final reward sum, usually substantial in amount) in GT5P? Surely you can't be expected to save up for that on single races alone.

We start the game with 35,000 credits... I picture lots and lots of doing the same race over and over again... and over again some more...

Atleast we're sure of one thing, there are going to be two F1 cars in GT5:P... the Ferrari F2007, and the McLaren MP4-22
ya know, since its the same car and all :P

:lol

Ooh, that's harsh. :D

Right, but Motorstorm had very little content in the game. All of that will be in GT5 and improved. While it's a very big slice of the game, it's still a demo. You're basically paying for the same content twice if you end up buying GT5.

Between GT HD and the demo GT5P Demo you have ~17 cars, 2 tracks and online leaderboards, which is plenty for me until the full game is out. There's also GTTV content in the free demo too.

I guess it just surprises me that there are that many people obsessed with Gran Turismo, I get the feeling a lot of those pre-orders are people that don't know what "prologue" means.

Big difference between those demo's and GT5P. That said, I think the £20 price will let people know the difference between GT5P and GT5 or a proper retail game. Plus the fact that Prologue and Concept versions have also been released in the past. I'm sure some people won't know, but I think most will.

Is that F2007 really in GT5 Prologue?

Those screenshots don't lie :D ... I think it was supposed to be a surprise for us when we picked up the game, but someone got a Euro copy a few weeks early and put the shots up...

Buy a Logitech G25, the only wheel you will ever need.
Over 300 bucks though >_>

Nice! I love racing with these cars in GT. The Wii may have to be sacrificed later this year for this and socom.

Everytime I read shit like this I throw up alittle, GT5P is much more then just a "Demo" people need to get off there high fucking horse and look at it as an actual standalone. GT5P demo is a demo, this is a full game with alot of content and doesn't cost that much.

I'm not suggesting that GT5 won't sell. I just don't understand why someone would buy an inferior version of a product, only to buy the complete version later on.

Because the full version may be a year away? That's 1 YEAR. Insomniac put out a new game every year. A year is too long to wait. Using that logic you could basically write off all sports game. Forget 2007's version, 2008's will be better lol.

This is GT5 2K8. GT5 is GT5 2K9. Only, 2K8 is a lot cheaper. :D

you can pay half price and get the Driving Force GT which looks pretty damn good. (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/playstation_3/devices/4172&cl=us,en)

I might pick up the Driving Force GT if it also works on PC. G25 is a bit too expensive for something that wont work on all my gaming machines.

You can get them new for about $150. I built a tubular frame for my wheel, there are kits available.

where can you get a G25 for $150???? new?

Search the net, you can find good deals.

I wouldn't bother with the Force GT, you will end up wishing you got the G25.

GT5 is coming in 2009 in Europe, don't know if that means 2009 for North America/Japan. By then, prologue will get old (not enough track selection is the main pitfall). People will be ready for the next/full installment.

Can't wait to see how much content the full game will contain, but Prologue is day one for me.

Looks like a nuclear reactor strapped on it.
:lol It *does* look like the exhaust port from the marine's powered armor doesn't it.

Yeah I guess I'll have to get this game now huh. I've never been totally sold on the idea behind the Prologues but shit they had to go and add just enough to it to make me bite.
