Wow this looks good. I don't know what happened in 2 months lighting , shaders , details all have improved considerably

Not all parts of the game are ready at the same time. Temp modules are used all the time, and then suddenly finished features start popping up, making the game much better.

Project CARS when through this. As a backer I had great insight into develpment, and last six months were really great. Especially optimization.

The AI is much smarter it seems which is why no one is even mentioning it, the AI driving is more.....natural i guess and it seems one cant bang their way to the front of the grid like was done in previous games.

I can't wait for this now that it's coming together. The most important part, physics, has been considerably upgraded and it has great graphics that surely aren't done. Now let's hope the damage model they have for this is decent.

I've converted the SHQ version to mp4 (it was mov before which sometimes doesn't work on standalone players) and put it up for download here. The streams should also look better than vimeo/youtube, but they are still being encoded.

No, absolutely. They fucked up, they should have waited till the had a good build, but likewise people shouldn't pretend that the reveal was how the game was going to look upon release and unfortunately many took it that way.

The damage to GT was done a long time ago, just compare the GT6 threads to those of GT5, the franchise is a spent force due to the continuous fuck ups, just in the past weeks we've had:

cancelled beta

disastrous London event

esport focus confirmation

no car/bike porn in the E3 press conference to reach a wider audience


When will they learn? It's like Sony want the game to flop, And with what we know about the game so far that seems highly likely to me.

Yup good point. Looked rough in earlier media in spots that of course got noticed and poured over as GT is a huge franchise with a market perception for pushing the envelope graphically.

And it seems to me that there won't be a GT8 in the PS4, only this GT Sport and after 2 or 3 years (depending on how long they will support this GT Sport through DLC) the GT 7. GT8 for PS5 (or PS Neo).

So, they actually dropped the racing line entirely for GTS. Kaz says it's because all those do is make you drive over them instead of actually learning the track. Instead they've replaced them with what they've called racing markers. There are three markers per corner. One for the entry, the apex, and the exit. All placed where you car should be if you take the corner properly. Here's a video showing it off

Wow, this is awesome. This will probably be the most underrated and overlooked feature but it will do wonders for ppl trying to learn the tracks and race properly.

Game changer for sure. I hope other titles do this. The racing line is the worst thing ever to be introduced in racing games.

Most major software development projects involve multiple teams working in parallel. We're probably just seeing the visuals team submitting their updated stuff to the master build.

If anybody (rightfully) thinks that gifs can be deceiving, do yourself a favor and download the full video. It looks really great. SO much better than the reveal. I'm still bummed about the apparenly lacking SP, but the current videos redeem almost any other negative aspect from the builds before (sound could still be better).

Is it just me or the engine sound and tyre sound is pretty decent, not great but definitely not ear hurting

Well the negativity in May was highly exaggerated because we knew things weren't done and they were focusing on what wasn't the point of the presentation.

However the crow is definitely being eaten because all of those negative Nancy's were saying how PD always says it's not finished and nothing ever changes. Well it changed now, where are those scoffers now? You already know...
