This image pleases me greatly as someone who is chomping at the bit to get their hands on the livery editor.
Hoping for parity with Forza at the very least.

Q: Will there still be the concept of "standard cars" in the game? At launch there will be 140 cars, but how many will be there in the end?
A: In the end, there will be around 4 to 5 hundred cars. All cars have been re-modeled, and there won't be standard cars.
I'm very sorry, but I cannot believe GT Sport will get another 300-odd cars over its lifespan.
No, especially when the photomode cars on the PS3 have stupid levels of detail already.2.) They aren't going to start from scratch with every car. This would be an obvious way to add a lot of cars. There's no reason why they should throw away all of that old car data. Just remodel some aspects of them and add high quality textures and they'd be good to go.
Prepare to be disappointed. I'm betting it'll be comprehensive enough to be personal but not significant enough to be artistic. Nor should it be.This image pleases me greatly as someone who is chomping at the bit to get their hands on the livery editor.

I could've sworn he stated gt would turn into a title that would never be "finished" and that the game would continuously grow through updates. So having that many cars doesn't seem unreasonable if he's sticking to that.
Don't we have any details on It?
Can we share paint jobs online easily?
Gran Turismo Sport is equipped with a Livery Editor that enables players to customize the livery or their vehicles, or even recreate the livery of their favorite racecars. The created design can be shared between players. Surprise your friends with your originality and level of artistry.
The lack of single player content is very disappointing to me. At this point it looks like GTS will be the first Gran Turismo game I skip.

I've always just enjoyed driving games on my own. I find MP racing a bit stressful. At least when it is full sim.
I'm also pretty rubbish so I enjoy playing at my own pace.
If I'm honest I miss the days of the GT garages, buying second hand dodgy cars, doing them up and grinding up to greatness.
Sad that has all but gone from GT. At this point as a new XB1 gamer I feel I'm looking forward to Forza more(sad just because GT used to have a big place in my heart)
Its why I'm also pissed at Sony for axing Driveclub because it was the Forza Horizon to Forza IMO. DC2 or even a new Motorstorm could have really been more arcadey focussed.
There are a few ways that I can see it happening
1.) Outsourcing. As far as we know they still don't outsource their development. But that would obviously dramatically increase the amount of cars that they're able to create.

This is how I feel as well. Still can't get over the Evolution closure and the fact that I'm no longer the target audience for Gran Turismo. I ended up buying an Xbone few days ago to get my racing fix.

Why didn't you end up buying a PC instead to get your racing fix?
Just saw this video of Kaz saying ppl shouldn't expect a GT7 as GTS is essentially GT7.
https://youtu.be/6t7opXDklyw
I think I peed a little...
Didn't they say there was going to be an actual GT7, though?
I was actually pleased they are moving away from versioning and focusing on online.
Numbering becomes ridiculous as time goes on, and we are moving to more of a software-as-a-service model, rather than isolated releases in general with a lot of games/genres. This kinda happens anyway, GT6 is basically super patched GT5. Now with Neo (and all future PlayStation consoles probably being spec bumped x86's) there can be less arbitrary cut offs and restarts, architecture isn't changing again probably for a long time.
I don't know exactly what all this means from GT, but I'm assuming this game is just going to continuously get fleshed out for years when it becomes Kaz's 'ultimate vision.' Packed with cars and Tracks and online events.
As for single player career, who will miss that? It's a couple of races thrown together and given a name that you can repeatedly try. I never felt invested or interested or on edge. Some kind of actual career thing could be added later. That said, I think this will be forgotten in the haze of an actual good online mode where etiquette counts combined with a good ladder/league system. If you suck, you can drive against other people who suck (like me!)
What is it with people trying to discount single player for their own selfish reasons. People want to play single player. Deal with it. I don't care about your or anyone elses reasons why you "don't get it" - that's your fucking problem.
People have been used to a robust single player for 8 or so GT games at this point. You don't have the mandate to pat them on the shoulder and tell them the game they enjoyed isn't the right way to play. It makes you come across as a condescending prick at best and corporate ballwasher at worse. Stop.
Yea definitely getting this...
Please put in damage
Why is it called sport?
Full disclosure, I have not been keeping up with the news on this game and I am also lazy, so can someone give me the Cliff Notes version about the lack of SP content? The lack of single player content is very disappointing to me. The Sp content is basically just some license tests, some time trials, some challenges that have you tackle sections of courses, and racing etiquette. All with the intention of getting you ready for online basically.Full disclosure, I have not been keeping up with the news on this game and I am also lazy, so can someone give me the Cliff Notes version about the lack of SP content?
I only play SP in GT, literally have never gone online in any of the games, so if the news is truly bad, I too may be skipping it which sucks as I just watched the videos on Page 1 and get pretty pumped.
This. So tired of seeing crap like that from posters. Copy and paste that into a Street Fighter V launch thread and it'll fit right in with all the other apologist/elitist/condescending posts. Heck, I'd say this is even worse than what Street Fighter V did, since I'd wager that a much larger people played GT for its robust SP modes than the people who played SF for its SP offerings. What is it with people trying to discount single player for their own selfish reasons? There is an arcade mode that we assume is like the other GT arcade modes. But the SP career mode seems non-existent. No tournaments/cups etc.This. So tired of seeing crap like that from posters. But, PD's mixed messaging about whether a true 7 will ever come or not, naming this Sport, being a PSVR title, and being extremely clear way ahead of time about what kind of content is included in this game is gonna prevent them from getting the big backlash that SF got.
Nothing confirmed, but seemingly no upgrades, just tuning that is within the homologation rules of the racing class you are in (meaning stuff like camber, toe, dampers, ride height, fuel, final gear etc.).Do we know if cars are upgradeable - weight reduction, ecu, turbo etc?
From what I learned, it is matter of modelling with LOD enabled. They already have procedural damage sub-engine since GT5 on foundation, now they are working to remodel all databases with LOD on the same level.
Ugh... that and buying used cars is the best partNothing confirmed, but seemingly no upgrades, just tuning that is within the homologation rules of the racing class you are in (meaning stuff like camber, toe, dampers, ride height, fuel, final gear etc.).
It's not that simple to wait till GT7. GT6 was released 3 years ago and history tells us that "Real GT7" (or GT8 or ...) won't be available until 2018/2019. So GT fans who love career should wait 5,6 years for a new standard GT after GT6. It's not easy...[Agent]ZeroNine;212052633 said:I don't think a number of people in this thread understand that GT Sport is focused on community and competition. This game is (for the most part) built around the multiplayer Gran Turismo fans with a few bones for the single player fans.
Basically, just wait till GT7. That'll be the game focused on your desires.

Seriously disappointed with the dissolution of Evolution. The reason I bought a PS3 in the first place was because MotorStorm Pacific Roft and Wipeout HD looked fucking sick. Now two of my favorite franchises and studios have been thrown away by Sony. Forza Horizon 3 looks to be what I want.
Couldn't they still just rework the existing models to improve them? Because 4-500 is a massive number. So I don't see how they could get to that number unless they're outsourcing or have hit some dev milestone where they're able to build cars at a significantly faster rate than before.
On a completely different note, next-gen guardrails

In all seriousness, that does look really good for something that really doesn't need a lot of detail since it's not something most people will even pay attention to.
They've roped in students from the universities near their studios to model cars. It's on the website.
Hundreds of cars are coming with all the money to be made.
GT Sport is going to be an online micro-transaction fest. GT is done.

Sigh. A few things here. Percentage means jackshit to the public because no one knows exactly how the developer is judging completion. Secondly, the article leaves out another percentage that Kaz mentioned in the same interview. That percentage would be 50%. That's what he said the game was at when it was initially unveiled during the London event. The 70% figure was where it was at during E3. Which means it went from 50% to 70% in less than a month. Which goes back to my original point of just how meaningless percentages are to the public.
