Interior doors are made to be easily breakable so fire rescue can get through them fast. Though that door looks way flimsier than it should.
 
Sony didn't give much of an explanation when it announced Gran Turismo 5's delay yesterday. For something a bit more solid (just a bit), we turn to series producer Kazunori Yamauchi himself.

Returning to Twitter for the first time since September 22, Yamauchi apologized to fans today and explained that the reason for the delay was that it was taking some time to finalize some of the game's more complicated systems. Apologizing again (two apologies in the same Tweet!), he asked that players wait a bit more.

Yamauchi quickly followed up this apology with some good news for those worrying that this is actually a stealth delay to 2011. A follower pleaded with him to get the game out by the end of the year. "I believe we won't keep you waiting until then," replied Yamauchi.

It was probably staged for the show, so they installed the flimsy doors for easy destruction.

I've seen marketing material promoting the "Nov 2" release date at FRYs and Best Buy.

Also, anyone happy at the delay news because it affects a 'rival' console can go and choke on a kitten.

Here's a hint kids: pre-planned stuff is pre-planed. They used a dummy door for the dummy to be able to act like a dummy and all the kids would go 'wow'. The end.

You don't suppose they delayed it a bit to destroy any copies already made and make new ones that are locked to FW 3.42 or higher?

Blocks the USB jailbreak thing. Naruto, Castlevania and other recent releases are vulnerable because of the lead time required to print the discs, but I know COD Black Ops is confirmed to require the latest FW.
 
C'mon guys seriously...it's not the end of the world. There are plenty of alternative racing games out there. These are among the many you can enjoy, especially if you own a PC...

Without hyperbole... all those games put together don't compare to GT5.

I mean... if you don't own a frex setup on a 110" projector screen in a dedicated sim room anyway.
 
What could be a problem now, if it goes silent and the hype settles a bit; is that to get us back on the hype train they will have to wow us again. Now they have shown almost all the announced features, lets hope for their sake (and ours :lol ) they have something big up their sleeve :D

"Finalizing some of the complicated systems" is pretty vague, so it sounds like they're just adding in the updated security keys to the code or something.
