GT5 News - Nurburgring update (pre-E3 edition)

Have PD commented further on the "ultra super mega DLC-inclusive edition" idea that was being tossed around yonks ago?

The interior for the Italia is a different color in this trailer compared to the Italia trailer (this was pointed out by Fredde_swe on GTplanet)

It seems like it's finally happening

I’m sure you noticed the teaser footage for night racing in this trailer. This feature was first revealed in the February issue of PlayStation The Official Magazine, as part of their 10-page cover story on GT5, but this trailer is the first opportunity fans have to see it in action. Night racing is just one of many new GT5 features.

The game will not only include improved features, but also a host of exciting new ones that will be revealed in the coming months. To whet your appetite even further, here are a few new GT5 screenshots that just came in. Check the gallery on the GT website to see the rest.

As you may have heard, our Senior VP of Marketing and PSN, Peter Dille, announced at the GDC press conference that Gran Turismo 5 will be hitting store shelves this year. There’s lots in store for GT5 this year, so stay tuned here on the PS blog and the official GT website for the latest news and info on the game.

No more media droughts for GT5?

The collesium in the top left corner is nice, I would really like to know the exact track layout.

It's likely they'll use the old layout (red), which goes past the Colosseum, but with that green section somehow connected to it. In blue the possible roads to connect old and new.

In a reply to one of the comments the European brand manager says that they're announcing a release date soon. That at least gives me some hope that we'll find out before E3.
Yamauchi himself said soon back in August 2009. ;)

Good spot, but nothing shocking. Cars in GT have always had many different interior colors. You never could choose them yourself though, they were always coupled to a paint color.

that would be lovely if it wasnt the same night track as all GT's

I'm inclined to agree. I mean, it still looks awesome, but when they only show this track (that was a night track in the old games), it doesn't instill hope that other tracks will have night variants.

It's like a puzzle. Wish we had just a few more features from the track to make a more possible route for the track.

All I wanna hear is that they implemented MLAA on the SPU. Fuck the doctored trailers and pretty pictures.

The dude on the PSblog is teasing the hell out the release

Hi hardvibes – I cannot qualify ’soon’ any further, however development is progressing well and we will make the launch announcement shortly. Please bear with us – the end product will be worth the wait!

Has Destination Playstation happened? It usually took place at the end of February but we haven't heard anything. That could be where they announce something about a release date as it's a retailer meeting.

Man watching the trailer now in proper direct feed... PD really knows how to make a trailer.
Cant imagine how epic the game intro is going to be.
:D

Gotta say I thought PD dropped the ball with the music on this trailer :P

Sounds totally out of place. Some Chicane music would go well with a GT5 trailer.

", and more."

What else is there?

Drag?

Yeah, Kaz has acknowledged it but it's not confirmed so it wouldn't be listed yet. I'm not sure what else unless Kaz figured out a way to include midget car racing, which he said he wanted to do.

I remember SamBishop saying in some GDC thread that aside from GDC there wasn't any event where announcements could be made until E3. He specifically mentioned no Destination Playstation.

Hope to God I haven't had some false memory episode.

Goddamn, those night shots are something else.
That said, I'm not getting my hopes up too much until I see some real new gameplay footage.
That little time trial demo that Sony put out in December looked quite dissapointing in game.

Are you sure? Destination PlayStation is for retailers, right? I think he mentioned the lack of Gamers Day.

And... Where do I find the HD version of the trailer?
