GT5 News - Nurburgring update (pre-E3 edition)

Melfice7 said:
so who wanna bet that WRC actually means fantasy rally tracks with official cars/drivers instead of point-to-point real tracks :D
Damn, i didnt think of that

Im going to hook up my PS2 and play through WRC4 again

Why havent there been ANY good WRC games this Gen?

Because the mass market prefer more arcady stuff, I guess.

Its a shame, WRC seems to be quiet now overall, i havent heard anything about the real stuff, let alone any upcoming games.

DiRT does not deserve McRae's name on it

FirstPlay will have a preview of GT5 this week. Yeah, they'll probably be nothing, but worth keeping an eye out.

FUCK GRANTURISMO, Forza WILL BEND IT OVER AND FUCK IT IN THE ASS........ WHEN IT FINALLY GETS RELEASED IN 2031

Not a bad meltdown. Dunno if it's worth waiting 6 months to get into the forum for though.

This guy probably believed what he said at the moment as well which is what makes it all the funnier.

Where as the other guy was just retarded trying to troll and get a rise with a bunch of cliche arguments.

That December Demo should reall have been a prologue update :(

I'd be fine with waiting another year if i could have some new tracks and cars, or maybe a new demo just like GT4 prologue, with the Nurburgring

There is actually a new WRC game coming up.

Anyway I don´t expect the first iteration to be worthwhile a buy, takes time to get these things right.

I do hope GT5 will at least offer some nice long tracks in a varied environment with beautiful sceneries , some of the WRC3 stages still give me goose bumps.

I don´t find the "rally tracks" in GT PSP very inspiring. My favourite one is Costa di Amalfi, I hope GT5 will feature that one.

I've always thought that rally racing in the GT games was kinda crap to be honest. I don't expect much from GT5 in this aspect.

I honestly can't wait to jump into an Escudo, switch to cockpit view, climb Pike's Peak and all the while, trying to navigate the Hill with a glaring, setting sun blinding your vision!
Add 7.1 sound and a G25......fcuking awesome!!

THIS... +1

I just love the Escudo in the old games.. it was the car I had the most fun with. Climbing Pikes Peak in the Escudo (I hope it´s still in the game?) with the new graphics will be enough for me to forgive the wait for GT5.

I agree, there was something flat about it, the traction never really felt convincing. Thats what i like about some of the PS2 rally games, they do a very convincing job of driving over different surfaces

Why are some males so obsessed with calling other males to cock-sucking and ass-fucking when they want to make strong points?

Latent homosexualism, what?

To be fair, it could totally be a chick.

Anyone else feel that the information about the latest build is being held back for the E3?

Given the fact that 3D capability was just added to the console recently and GT5 is also advertised to have it (along with damage modelling), it would be a big show at E3 with a quick subsequent launch.

Escudo is nice and all, but the Lancia Delta holds a soft spot in my heart. Its one of my favorite classics. Maybe because we had a Lancia when I was a kid.

You know this will never happen to one of the biggest brands of Sony, they will surely have a massive campaign similar to T10s, probably larger, with tonns of bullshots and shit for months to build up hype and public awareness.

Expect a fall release and you may not get disapointed.

You mean just like we've been having already?

The great thing about GT5 is that despite any flaws, it will be infinitely better supported than that other franchise. I believe that GT5 will, just like Prologue, continue to evolve long after it launches.

I do hope that dlc cars and tracks will be integrated in GT mode or at least give new challenges.

I don´t think we have seen anything yet, compared to when Che was on a roll, it was at much higher rate.

I think E3 will be start of that.

Maybe you just haven't been paying attention

And thats not even all of them

Kaz said they have a small team dedicated just for that after the game releases. So I got high hopes there.

For all you guys saying that any real rally locations probably won't be included, doesn't that clip from the trailer showing the Toscana Rally give a +1 hope?

I know how meltdown guy feels. I can't take waiting for GT5 much longer so I've gone into a denial phase where there is no GT5. Give it another 6 months and I'll be in full on 'Fuck GT, Fuck Kaz, Fuck the Internal Combustion Engine' mode and then I'll lose my account too :(

Can someone dig this post up when that happens and point out that cracks were emerging in my frail psyche. I'm this close to deleting my GT: PSP save and starting again.

I think I have, still I don´t think they have gone in to high gear with the marketing work. BTW those pictures goes way back to before the release of GT5P.

We´ve seen more Kaz interviews recently in motor magazines and that may be the start of more to come. A clever move in my opinion would be to make a 3D demo that could be featured in all shops have 3D TVs at display.

There isn´t even a WRC event in Italy this year, but yeah I would be fine if they made really good made up races from a bunch of different WRC locations (present or old) around the world.

This is Sony...they don't have a high gear in the marketing department. I think they've just got a boxful of neutrals.

Most of them are after GT5P. And like I said, it isn't even all of them.

Fair enough, but spread out over a number of years I don´t think it is that much.

But no one would be happier than me if Sony made a surprise launch with just a month notice or less. :D

Well yeah, if your going by amount/time ratio then yeah. But we have gotten quite alot. And 3 or 4 trailers too.

We've gotte more then previous GTs iirc.

i agree, the rally in gt3/4 is too.. slidey xD they dont compare to the WRC games and in the trailer where they showed gt5's rally the lil bit with the 2 cars on screen kinda looks the same as gt3/4 but thats a long shot gotta see gameplay

I can´t really say if they are too slidey. Driving on gravel is pretty slidey, I have gone off the road once IRL when I was having to much fun. I can´t really imagine what it will be like driving a real WRC car with more or less permanent four wheel spin. It looks pretty slidey on TV in my opinion and those drivers are crazy good at managing those cars on all kind of tracks.

I actually had good fun at some of the GT3 rally tracks, I particulary liked the tracks having both gravel and tarmac sections.

i never drove a WRC car either but watching incar cameras in real life it looks alot closer to the WRC games on ps2 in terms of grip than to gt3/4

So I just saw this.

Holy Shit. No wonder it's taking so long to ship this game.

Bug: Driver's shoulders clip through seats
Priority: High
Fix: Adjust driver position and remodel seats where necessary.

Estimated Fix Time: 1 day per car

Even GT2 had at least one real rally location, but I think people are rightfully doubting that there will be a bunch of real WRC courses, there hasn't been a WRC rally in mainland Italy for years.

Alt. Fix. Add realistic deformation on fabrics. Different deformation for different materials and take into account logos, stitching.
