Finished the main story, Trevor's got 41.2 mil, Franklins got 44.5 mil, and Micheal's got 51.2 mil, got all the assassination missions left. Feelin' good. 
if you have lester missions available there is really no reason to dabble in online stocks (outside of for fun) because you can pretty much reach maximum amount without any actual risk offline. Some of those assassination missions require you to purchase stocks from BAWSAQ (online trader) but from what I can see the ones you need to invest in will behave as outlined in the guide. I invested in VASPID just yesterday and even though the market shows it never going up, after 2 days I could still unload and reap a huge return.
I bet a few!..I have pretty much resorted to calling it the BALLSACK.
Anyone know what PIS is at for ps3? still shows 14.98 on website and been there since like noonish.

HAL still the investment of choice? Seems too late for me to put anything into PIS and make money.
PIS is still going up faster than HAL. I dumped all of my cash into both yesterday (2 saves) and so far PIS has made me more money.

Just sold all my HAL stack for piss with Franklin and Michael and then accidentally sold and rebought HAL stock with Trevor

You still can't miss with the piss. I switched to HAL on monday. Woke up on tuesday and saw no decline on the piss, so I got went back with the piss.
Then Lester missions are they way to go - you'll make billions.
Made some money on HAL sold it all and bought PIS. PIS seems to be on a steady incline and I hope that trend continues.

Still true this morning. Glad I decided to move some of my holding from HAL back to PIS last night.
Edit: So GAF, is there any reason to buy money-making property in the game instead of just throwing it in the market? I bought the weed shop with Franklin and I've forever regretted the purchase because he's only had tens of thousands of dollars to throw in the market instead of hundreds like Michael and Trevor.

I don't think any of the properties end up making you enough money to make up for the initial cost. I buy them because they have fun missions and I like the idea of my characters laundering their ill gotten gains by buying them. Franklin in particular had become something of a real estate tycoon in my game.

Are there ever any interesting missions that come out of the real estate stuff? So far I've had one "defend the car scrapyard" mission and one "VIP fare for the cab company" mission. Neither of the properties I bought through Trevor have given me anything besides the drug runner missions for the airport (which technically don't come up as Property Management missions on the map anyways).

Well you definitely want to have Michael buy the dock on the top left of the map since that's how you get a sub and a dinghy with scuba gear.
Yeah that's true, that's probably a good plan.
I'm diversified, 50% PIS 50% HAL.

I dont think it matters who buys that property to get the sub and dinghy. I just bought it myself with Trevor, and the mission to obtain the submarine parts appeared soon after for Michael.
From my experience, it's never down for more than a half hour.

On that note, the game says PIS is down 100% and I'll lose all my money if I sell now (even though I know it went up a few bucks since yesterday). Is this just because BAWSAQ is down? Has anyone else had this problem?

I sold PIS too early I thought it was gonna drop. Oh well, that Lester trick got me a billion dollars
Might be one to watch... did you see the previous 5 days? It was $510+ last thursday and dropped to $410 today. High is $577. We'll see if it drops again or keeps rising... wish i was near my ps3 to see if I can get a better look at it's history/trends.

HAL looks dead in the water, it's barely moving, but PIS is a big mover still, jumped about $2 in a day. Any of you guys that jumped out early and went to HAL I would recommend loading an old save.
Still down? Started my Lester missions. Kinda annoying. Is it being down tied to the new online rollout?
What do folks sell the first stock (beta pharmaceuticals i think) at for decent profit?

You don't need a lot of money to play day trading. This is like penny stock trading, except its for credits.
Alls ya need is the minimum to open the account, and you need to be good enough to make back the trade fee. Some of you guys are good enough, looking at how serious you're taking the dumbest part of the game.

Fell for the mass PIS sale hype and moved all my stock to HAL and WIZ 
While HAL is making money (not as much as PIS) WIZ is a total loss.

Yup it's been down in game all day for me. Which is annoying because PIS is $17.22 right now and I'm really tempted to cash out so I can buy the golf course.
I guess it's a good thing I can't because I technically need 52 million more for the 3 movie theaters.
