GTA V Comparison PC 4K vs PS4 vs PS3

What are PC bullshots?
Neogaf official pc bullshot thread: 1fps is still one screenshot per second

Serious answer: you just increase resolution far beyond anything a normal pc is capable of, add processing-intensive AA and post-processing effects or in some cases...literally Photoshop

There's no way to know until the game is released. I'm not sure why you're so convinced.

First time seeing non direct screens from a game?

I just don't understand what's so unbelievable about the actual game looking like that. Oh well I guess we'll soon see how it is.

Like i said the PC version is going to look better than the PS4. That's a given. But this comparison tells us nothing.

Pc... Bullshots. I... What?

Yes. PC has them too.

What makes them so clearly bullshots? 'You just cant see it' is a non answer and selective shots arent bullshots

Oh there's a playable version already? No. So these screens are from RS to show off the games IQ.

They're the developer of the game. They can do whatever they want with the assets. There's no way for the end-user to be sure they did anything misleading until the game is released. Those screens you're convinced are bullshots could be nothing more than a free-flight camera.

And again, high-end PCs are ridiculously powerful compared to modern consoles. If the developer puts in the work, their game can look pretty good.

So long as it can be accomplished with the vanilla game, calling something like that a bullshot is silly. Even if modern hardware has trouble with it, PC games have a nice habit of looking better over time.

To be more precise : of course it can't be debated that the PC version will be superior on the right specs but I don't think we can draw much at all from those shots, direct-feed vs taken from a videos etc..

60fps alone will put the PC version in a league of its own compared console versions.

Okay? Bullshots are impossible shots usually edited in post. Just because its marketing material doesnt inherently make them bullshots thats not what that word means. Ive been given no reason to believe that anything here besides the coreogrAphy of the shots is misrepresenting the game at its stated res in a playable state.

This is all i'm saying.

thats the thing.. im playing the game on ps4 and doesnt look as bad as these screens..

They look like the crappy, heavily compressed screenshots you get that are from fb/twitter uploads with the Share Button rather than Direct Capture screenshots which actually look how the game looks on your screen.

I really wish they'd do some work on the functionality of the Share Button's screenshots, video recording, and streaming - they're all kinda terrible right now. Streaming isn't even 60fp for 60fps games.

Sure is a lot more grass and stuff in this pic:

I honestly can't believe the difference will be that huge.
Rockstar have not show PC gameplay yet.

It's not all that hard to believe considering how CPU-bound draw distance can be. Dying Light is a prime example.

Edit: If I've misunderstood and you're actually referring to the amount of effort R* has gone to sprucing up areas of the game, then it's worth pointing out that the port has been in development for over a year now, which is a very long time, even for R*. ;)

I'm sure there was a great comparison screenshots previously which showed some of the alter textures, but also received the same heckling from the same people as not being relevant or are bull shots etc. It would be better to just wait for the final release and do the comparisons then rather than this same old tired play as with MGS GZ.

Well I have a different way to compare GTA V on these platforms:
PS3: available
PS4: available
PC: NOT available

So do I:

PS3: Don't use anymore
PS4: Don't want - not enough content I enjoy
PC: Preferred platform and Only platform I currently use

I only want to play my games on the platform I actually use - same as anyone else. From my perspective, I'm perfectly happy waiting since there are so many great games at the moment for PC compared to the other platforms

I honestly didn't make this thread for people (some) to behave like pouting babies over it.

Some of you seemed more than fine with a year of PS4 vs XBO comparisons.

I don't even mind a mod locking the thread at this stage.

PC game looks better in 4k resolution bullshots than console game at 1080p/720p facebook compressed pictures. Stop the presses.

I don't know what you expected this thread to turn into.

You're quite adamant that these screenshots are either touched up or were taken within a special build of the game whereas he's saying that it's impossible to know either way.

I want to see a comparison with the final released game. Properly captured scene for scene. Not promotional ones.

The thing that really annoyed me about the most recent console release of the game was the lack of accurate reflections and functional mirrors. Particularly for the whole first person mode, while driving, I want mirrors to work. I'd hope this shot is a confirmation of that appearing in the PC version.

Why does the gun close up one not even look like it's from the same part of the game on the PC shot?

But yeah, Craveonline/jleack article, so proceed with caution just to be on the safe side.

Yeah, I was taken back by all of the detail they put into the first person perspective, but oddly totally forgot about functional mirrors. That's an incredibly bizarre oversight.

You know I hate to be a downer but I don't see Rockstar pimping up the graphics, a PC version has been in the work for a very long time (mid 2012) but I think it's unrealistic to expect them to go the extra mile when they don't want to allocate enough ressources to get the PC version out. 60fps with same visuals as consoles is that I expect, although I can't ignore the comparison highlights some very interesting differences, the fact that some shots are taken from a video vs some direct feed has no bearing on the foliage and LOD differences showcased here. I'm not quite sure this will be what the PC version will truly look like, that would be almost too awesome.

The screens in the PC bullshot thread are going to look even better. I've never seen gaming PR beat GAF unless they faked them.
Well sometimes even PC version are downgraded compared to footage. See Watch Dogs, Far Cry 3.

Good news, then: they're only a month away. Well, unless the release is delayed again. ;)
What is depressing is that it would not even be surprising.

They probably did not make the screenshots (especially since the shots are watermarked with Gamersky...) since the video contains more pictures. I suspect UHDgaming is closer to the source.

It's always nice to have the option.

I'd love to see Rockstar include ridiculously high-end assets and graphics options. So much so that top-of-the-line computers will have trouble. That's how older PC games used to work, anyway. After a hardware upgrade, I always liked going back to those monster games from studios like Origin to see how much better they'd look. That doesn't happen very often anymore, and many people would call a game like that "poorly optimized" even though it isn't.

Haha, indeed. I hope the April date sticks, though, as the game will serve nicely as a bridge to The Witcher 3 (unless that's delayed again).
