GTX 1080ti Specs leaked

I got a 980ti earlier this year (it was on sale and I sold my 970 to help make up a good chunk of the difference) and have been enjoying the performance at 1080p. The thing is, I recently got a 4k 60hz TV and though many games play pretty good at 4k, there are some where the performance isn't quite where I'd like (I could cap some of them to 30 if I'd like, but why not go full tilt). I'm wondering if it'd be better just to get another 980ti once the price drops even more and SLI them rather than upgrade my video card again. I do eventually want to get an HTC Vive, but I don't have one yet.
 
Was originally planning to replace my 980Ti with the new 1080Ti but I'm not sure now. Might wait till the next line of cards. Planning on picking up some ps4 games and possibly a pro and my PC currently is mostly a dark souls machine so it's not like I "need" the upgrade. Still I'm excited to see how it benchmarks.
 
I can see this being a grand.

Is this going to be a next year thing? I feel like a leak came out a long time ago for this, but people starting talking like it might not happen at all given that there's not current competition in this part of the market.
 
I believe based on Pascal Titan X benchmarks that this will be a good enough upgrade for me to replace my SLI 980tis and return to a single card. It'll be a sidegrade for the games that support SLI well, but for any game that doesn't support SLI or has SLI issues this will be a very solid update.

I'm running a 780Ti SLI rig, so i've been waiting on this.

Judging by the previous release schedules, is this likely to drop before Christmas?
 
I told myself I have to upgrade my monitor from this 23" 1080P 60hz display before I upgrade from my 980ti.


I need to find a replacement monitor with gsync now...

A 1070 at 1080p will ace the vast majority of games with no issues. I imagine there will be a few games that are poor ports but there is no reason why it can't give you the highest IQ and framerate/frametimes.

I run my 980ti on a 1440p/144hz monitor and always tweaking my settings to get the best performance possible. That's the best thing about PC gaming is that the users are making the trade offs to suit the needs.
 
I'm waiting for this to build my first ever PC (mac user). Will probably get 2 since it will be for work first and gaming second. Just not sure if I should also wait for Volta.
 
yeah this is gonna be expensive.

worth though. I don't regret spending an absurd amount of money on the new Titan X
 
Would be tempting but at 1080p my gtx 980 runs basically everything maxed at 60fps.
 
Still sitting on a 980 and resisted the big allllll summer to get a 1080. Here's hoping for a reasonable street price and some solid benchmarks. Very curious how far out this card is.
 
the pricing on these cards is getting way out of control even not taking the canadian dollar into account. I can afford it but if there's one thing I've learned it's that I get way too paranoid about artifacts or crashes when I have a $600 video card in my system. Something twice as expensive would kill me.
 
Well if you haven't upgraded jump on it, but this is only essential for the native 4K audience on PC. A 1080 easily holds 144HZ @ 1080P and Ultra in The Witcher 3 right now. If you have a 1080 wait for Volta or later. That said the 1080 doesn't slouch at 4k either.

Edit: This post was somewhat unclear it is with Hairworks off and the 1080 being able to hit 144HZ consistently not continuously and in all environments sorry for the confusion.
 
Tempted to sell my 1080 now to get as much money back as possible, because I know I'm going to end up buying this card.

I know this is off topic, but how would next year's low end card like the 1060 today compare to a 1080 by estimating via trends? How economical is to be at low end card upgrades compared to an older top card upgrades?

I'm dumb but what I understand is today between a 1060 and a 980, the 1060 is a lot cheaper and isn't lagging that far behind all said and done.

I ran Blood & Wine with the G1 and had to turn shadows down to medium to keep it in the 130s.

But you're right, it is the go to card if you want to game at 1080p and chase 144Hz in current AAA releases.

What are your settings? Because I top of at about 90 with everything maxed. Hairworks and all. EDIT: I think there's enough people with conflicting experiences that I can confidently say you're missing some settings. Sorry.

I don't know how many more frames those cores equal. DBZ power level equivalents?
