BenjaminBirdie said:I think it's an uphill battle, at least for the hardcore userbase that moved onto Rock Band. Most folks have invested SO much money in terms of equipment and DLC, I really can't see too many people having both games, no matter what tracklist Activision can scrounge up.

Now why didn't they just reuse this brilliant ad..McBradders said:Oh wait, Rock Band has outdone GH 4 in shitty ad stakes;

Don't you remember what Guitar Hero III looked like? In-game footage would only hurt the buzz.birdman said:I come in hoping for some game footage and leave utterly disappointed.

Well, GH4 will probably include more than 20 songs over RB (counting extra-songs and all), which is well worth 40 euros.BenjaminBirdie said:Who, me?
It depends. Is that the most important factor? More than charts, or songs included, or DLC commitment?
There will be a robust create-a-rocker mode in GH4. If you're not talking about characters in game, I'm at a lost about what you're talking here with this "kids on stage" thing and all.BenjaminBirdie said:That anyone can be a rock star with the game? TheGreatDave said:besides, if the GH:4 drum set works with Rock Band (which it presumably will unless RedOctane are smart) there's a way everybody can win.
Maybe so.fresquito said:It's going to do so much better than RB, if only because the Wii version won't be much gimped like in RB and because they will probably not fuck europeans like RB does. Besides GH3 has sold much more copies than RB.
I doubt it will. Activision seems more than happy keeping things incompatable.TheGreatDave said:I'm joking that the "hardcore" would buy both games.

Not really. GH's is a bunch of people playing on expert and going for gold and Rock Band is a bunch of people playing casually and swapping instruments. Seems like a straight up representation of both games baby!
Blablurn said:You know what? I'm from Europe and I own a PS3. I shit on Rock Band! I'm going to wait for this one.
BobsRevenge said:I doubt it will. Activision seems more than happy keeping things incompatable.
Yeah, I mean, we'll see. I'm not convinced that the games would've been compatable on the 360 either had they not been able to make it compatable before release.TheGreatDave said:Yeah, but Microsoft don't.
You're a PS3 owner though, right? You'll probably suffer.

Whats the point in having a kit that has hi hats for RB, the left most pad is not always the hi hat. I understand what you mean though.BenjaminBirdie said:But it seems four times as unwieldy, which seems like a more significant concern than aesthetics. Although the cymbals and hi-hats are a nice addition, I know there are some kits that have those for Rock Band, so I wouldn't be surprised if someday HMX releases them as add-ons.

Yeah, let me see you switch in for expert drumming after playing only "casually". You'll get fucking owned.TheGreatDave said:Not really. The GH4 one doesn't have a high hat either. It just has a crash and a ride. Anyone know if one of those will be used as a highhat? I'm curious how Neversoft will chart for the drums.Jirotrom said:Whats the point in having a kit that has hi hats for RB, the left most pad is not always the hi hat. Yep. Already have a guitar unless they manage to hose that compatibility somehow.VictimOfGrief said:Maybe so.
I know I'll be holding off on purchasing RB for the Wii and simply wait for GH for the Wii now.

I would avoid that just because of my hate for the song of the same name.Skiptastic said:Should have released GHIV as a normal GH game, then created this version of the game with all the accessories and singing and drumming and called it Jukebox Hero.
weird... I wonder what for?BenjaminBirdie said:The ones I saw had cymbal pads for several colors, in addition to the four main pads.
ah... I thought I heard they were going to use the left most cymbal as a hi hat, oh well, the GH4 set up still looks better and I believe the cymbals are pressure sensitive. Just really sucks that they wont have my money since I've invested so much into RB.BobsRevenge said:The GH4 one doesn't have a high hat either. It just has a crash and a ride. But I think only the 360 version of RB is out now, with the PS3, PS2 and Wii versions coming along late summer I think.xbhaskarx said:I thought, aside from price, the primary complaint was that Europeans had to wait so long for this.
Rock Band is out in Europe now, whereas Guitar Hero: Rock Band will not be out in Europe for many months.
