You guys haven't been in the Rock Band thread regularly, have you? Aww, you've missed out on the joys of our little music game community! We're cross-game compatible, you know. After Microsoft and Sony forced cross-compatible, we now have the ability to take our non-sequitur ramblings from the RB thread to the GH one right across to Rock Revolution!
Fresh tomato off the vine in southern Italy is incredible. If you have already been there and eaten them and still hold that opinion, I feel sorry for your taste buds.Belgand said:

okay i'm gonna ignore most of what you lot said and just pick up on the important stuff, that's actually relevant to the thread?
Tomatoes with burgers are FINE. Especially raw ones.
How anyone can not like Tea is beyond my comprehension. I know several British people who don't like Tea, which I simply refuse to accept. I have 6 variations of Tea in my cupboard at the moment, and 3 of Coffee.
Guitar Hero: Metallica will be amazing, totally day 1 for me. Shame I didn't postpone my current Metallica binge until then, but oh well. AC/DC Live: Rock Band will be great too. But back on topic...
Yesterday I had a really nice hot chocolate at Costa Coffee, had whipped cream, marshmallows and everythink.

For me it's just looking at the past songs and finding that while I like them as songs I'm just not capable of playing them without my hand hurting and barely getting through some of them. Having that kind of brutal punishment isn't fun for me. I worry this will be a significant problem with it. That plus anything post-Black Album.

The best swag I've ever got was that one company sent a few packets of English Breakfast tea with the product. Sure, I've got stuff that's bigger/more expensive, but it was the most awesome.
I'm hoping there's some good bargains with the disc only World Tour. I'm potentially swayed, and will be playing it at Stuff Live this half term... they say there'll be prizes! I like those.

I'm curious why you included Death Magnetic (maybe I just need to hear more, but I haven't heard anything from it that really blew my skirt up... it's closer to their old stuff, but still not good enough for me), but not Master of Puppets? Also I still want "Seek and Destroy".

I'm also picky about getting textures I don't expect in my food, which is why I don't like sauces having bits of anything in them. I blend that shit up. I'm a picky eater, in the worst way. Umm, I didn't like any of the album at all to start with, thought <yanide su<ked tbh, then I bothered stealing the album and giing it a fair listen. I'd pay for it but the quality is shit and doesn't desere my money.

I think the album is pretty good in general. There's some great tracks on there, even though it's probably a bit too long for it's own good.

Confession time: the "h" on my laptop keyboard fell off, and I put it back on but eventually it broke altogether. Then I started just pressing the plastic ring, but that quickly stopped working as well.
Now "h" for me is Ctrl - v and for "H" I have to find it somewhere and copy it, and then copy a lowercase h again for later. I even wrote all my final papers in law school like this (I used a USB keyboard for exams). I also get screwed up if I ever copy and paste something else, it's such a natural thing for me now that I'll be typing away, try to paste an "h" and accidentally paste some random url or paragraph of text. Now I sometimes get screwed up on working keyboards because I'm so used to it.
Also, I have an older laptop that works fine and is actually more powerful than this one but I don't use it because it's smaller and sometimes makes my hand cramp up.
Exactly how I feel, there's a couple tracks that are terrible. All Nightmare Long is the best track IMO. Also "The Day That Never Comes", "Broken Beat & Scarred" and "My Apocalypse" are very good. If we truly can buy the tracks separately I will download these.TheGreatDave said:

so which one has the better hardware? rockband 2 or this? this will be my first entry to the series..... and i plan to buy both.

That is a tough, subjective question really. It's really hard to state which is better. Especially if you're going to buy both as there are distinct issues of the drums being compatible, but maybe not always working perfectly with each other, i.e. you'll have an extra note track with the Guitar Hero drums in that game, but it'll be shifted around if you use the Rock Band drums; if you use the GH drums in RB you'll have some awkwardness in how things are charted compared to how the drum set is laid out. The guitars also have different opinions from different people. This is made even worse since GH:WT isn't widely available yet so we don't have as much in the way of solid opinions.
Microphones are basically identical.
I'd suggest that you try each out if you can find local demo stations in your area or have friends with the games. Don't just try Rock Band 1 as the guitar and drums have been improved since then.
Seeing as the Rock Band 2 Strat is essentially the same as the first (strum bar wise) based on the posts in that thread, I'm probably just going to get the 99.99 Guitar bundle for this and use that + my Xplorer for this and Rock Band 2, with Rock Band being my main platform.
