Guitar Hero: World Tour Platform Official Thread

So sadly, my green drums seems to have stopped working. You have to hit it perfectly in the centre for it to register, and even then it's not perfect. That's with the sensitivity turned to 20, too.

So, if I take the drums apart and try that thing where you put the paddle pop stick (popsicle stick for the Americans) in there, will that void my warranty? I really don't want to have to wait weeks to get new drums.

so when you play online with someone playing drums, it doesnt show them registering an orange drum hit, even though they did hit it.. this happens for everyone, right? not just me?

I could see "We are the Champions" coming as DLC some day since it was in On Tour. Maybe this also means more Queen... who knows?
Well at least it means the tracks can be got, unlike Led Zeppelin. I seriously doubt they'd put out the same song for DLC that's already in one of the games, though.

Guitar Hero: Metallica info:

GH:Metallica looks exactly like I suspected it would. Heres the confirmed stuff.

Expert Plus: New Drum difficulty. It's a special difficulty for people with a splitter and two kick pedals. Not compatible with World Tour online Leaderboards.

DVD Style Content: Photos, set lists, fan club videos, rare live and behind the scenes footage

New tones: GHTunes is in the game and it offers up exclusive tones from James Hetfields ESP Truckster guitar and Slayers Tom Araya's ESP Bass.

Drum Fill Mode: New cheat that lets you play freestyle drums on song using Metallica drum sounds.

Metallifacts: Watch performances of each track overlaid with Pop-Up Video style windows that points out trivia.

Alice In Chains: No Excuses
Bob Seger: Turn The Page
Judas Priest: Hell Bent For Leather
Kyuss: Demon Cleaner
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Tuesdays Gone

Fuel
Hit The Lights
King Nothing
Master of Puppets
No Leaf Clover
Nothing Else Matters
Sad But True
The Unforgiven
Where I May Roam

Sorry I can't post screens yet.

Confirmed Metallica Tracks:
Enter Sandman-Eh, ok, already had it before though.
For Whom The Bell Tolls-Fuck yes.
Fuel-Decent song from the Load/Reload era.
Hit The Lights-Nice, I hope to see more from Kill 'Em All.
King Nothing-See Fuel.
Master of Puppets-Oh fuck yes.
No Leaf Clover-Pretty good, although the song is quite repetitive.
Nothing Else Matters-Meh.
Sad But True-Meh.
The Unforgiven-Meh.
Where I May Roam-Meh.
Decent so far, hope to see a lot more earlier tracks though.

Eww, Foo Fighters?! Can't we have one game without them?

Sounds like a good product. I'm all for band games, especially when they're done like this.

they need to sell kick pedals separately and sell better pedals as well for "expert plus" to be effective (I'm looking forward to it!).

Glad to see No Leaf Clover. It's my favorite Metallica song. <3
I was a little worried, since it never made it onto a studio album.

Holy shit, the non-Metallica tracks thus far are >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GH:WT's setlist. The Metallica songs have some awesome surprises (Hit The Lights will destroy drummers and guitarists in the first 10 seconds and also hints at more KEA tracks, like MOTORBREATH), but there's already more Black Album than needs to be there. Hopefully, we'll see more diversity in their career in the coming months, but the focus on their 90s stuff within this initial batch has me a tiny bit concerned. Oh well, I guess they needed some stuff to fill out the early gigs.

Still, KYUSS

An official double bass solution is obviously coming. I just hope they release stand alone drums with the game, or at least a drum bundle.
Here are my patent pending Lars drums.

YESSS, consider this a purchase.

well, either way I would've gotten it. but WOOT.

and Expert +! Holy shit yes! but will this work with the RB2 drumkit? I really REALLY don't want the GH one.

I was gonna make my new bass pedal in about two weeks (right after I move). But, at this point, I may wait and see what they do with GHM and the pedals. Besides, my current adjustments/fixes have (amazingly) worked for several weeks now with absolutely no need for further adjustment or tweaks. I've been been using a drum set I have no problems with *whatsoever* for weeks now.

The lack of talk about disc exports speaks for itself, I guess. Shame if it doesn't have it, but DLC carrying from WT to GH5 is the big issue I care about.

I may have to motivate myself to fix my drums for this game.

why haven't you yet?

It's not like you have to go out and get anything right?

It's just re soldering those wires?

I have the iron, not the...stuff you heat up. My ignorance is part of the reason I'm putting off trying to fix them.

Just wanted to say ASSASSIN is my favorite song off that particular MUSE cd. How can you guys hate on this song?! :_(

p.s.- I haven't played this track in GH yet, but I love the song.

a soldering iron uses - are you ready for this? - solder. ;)

GH:M sounds interestingly impressive.

I assumed it would be SOMETHING along those lines, but I've not touched the stuff in...8 years or so. I had to be cautious!

the solder.

It really is incredibly simple. You could just take your drum pads to an electronic shop and ask them for help. There's only a six contacts for the pad sensors; I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping you solder a maximum of six contacts.

I bet you it is going to be Stone Cold Crazy, they did put Turn the Page after all.

And I hope Metallica's versions of those songs (Turn The Page, Tuesday's Gone, etc) are on the disc too. Especially Turn The Page.

Anyone know what happens with drum kit replacements? Do you have to send yours in and get it fixed? Or do they send a new one and then take the old one? I don't want to be stuck without a kit for 4-6 weeks or something.

Apparently it's only like a week.
