Guitar Hero: World Tour Platform Official Thread

The new pack is really, really good. Far too good to be given away for free while Nickelback costs money.

Not played any of the "hard rock" songs yet, I've downloaded the non-Nickelback ones though.

Yeah, I don't like the hard rock pack really. One of them (maybe Hinder?) was OK, but I skipped Nickelback on principle and the other one isn't that good.

The free pack is amazing. Jimi is one of the best songs in WT by far.

I got an email just now saying my serial/buyers code for the GH:WT free dlc offer is invalid. When I put in the right info (I'm sure!) for one of them. Bah.

Agreed.

I just got my "Error" email as well. I'm not sure if it's because it recognizes the Wii guitar serial number or if it's because I already used it along with a fake Owner ID.

I just played Your Face. I LOVE THIS SONG. I totally forgot ALL ABOUT IT, but I love it. Like, yeah. I remember hearing it a lot on the radio.

Born to Run, awesome.

Also, something interesting - my green pad broke. I sent in the main drum puds to get it repaid, and less than a week later, they sent an entirely new drum kit. So now I have spare cymbals, a pedal, and even a microphone.

I don't understand the complaintsfor the DLC on GHWT. And I have a Wii. My only problem came when two packs weren't released when they should have been released.I do0n't really care if some songs are missing, so far the output has been pretty strong.

The bad part is that none of the songs is a favourite of mine. The good part is that the free stuff is great, specially Sacrifice and Jimi, which are utterly awesome.

Got this for my GF, and she's currently rocking the drums. The kit seems fine so far (fingers crossed!).

I'm really interested in getting some drum silencers though as they do detract from the experience somewhat being so much louder than I imagined. Are there any decent ones out there (I'm in the UK BTW). I've only seen Rock Band branded ones so far.

I just got GHWT yesterday, and I've been playing around with the drums and the guitar.

I feel like I have to hit the yellow and orange cymbals too strong for the game to recognize it. It's not just stronger than the other pads, but TOO strong. Is it normal?

And with the guitar, every time a push the strum bar down I hear an annoying sound I don't hear when I strum up.

Is this all normal or should I try to contact some kind of technical suport?

Any idea how should I do that? I bought the game in UK, but live in Spain.

Helps, plz!

I bought GH:WT as an impulse buy, a week before Christmas.

So far I really enjoy it as an alternative to Rock Band. However, some of the songs are pretty fun but the majority of the setlist is uninteresting to me.

Mr. Crowley, Pull Me Under, Beat It, and Death Magnetic are all pretty awesome though.

I like a lot of the DLC. I'd say about half of it is well worth buying/getting, with the rest being based on if you like the song or not.

I'd get some DLC if I wasn't entertained by the content on disc. I'm still learning how to play drums (and slighly losing my ability to play guitars :lol ). So, there's plenty of stuff to hold me glued to the disc. I don't need any dlc.

I'd only buy DLC if I'd like a particular song very much. Not the case until now.

In other DLC news, the greatest song ever written is coming to Guitar Hero early next year.

And for FREE. Seriously, I'm willing to forgive the rest of the shitty month of January for this.

Two songs?! We need packs/albums a;ldkjfa;ldskjfa;ldf

I have a question about the Guitar Hero World Tour wireless guitar.

I'm almost positive mine is broken and I was wondering if anybody else was having the same problems. The strum bar seems to stick down or fall back down after notes, totally screwing me. I'll play a not but the strum bar won't pop back up so it won't play successive notes in a row, it seems. Or when I play a note it will suddenly give me the "you screwed up" sound right afterwards because (I think) the strum bar falls back down and registers a strum when there is nothing there. Is my guitar broken? And if not, what is my problem? Are other people having similiar problems with their guitars in Guitar Hero World Tour?

When ppl make their own songs is anyone making songs not available via dlc? Like more LP or some hoobastank. Anyone making these songs through the music creator? Or is that not possible?

I do know there's a serious amount of simple Green Day songs on GHTunes, complementing their COMPLETE FUCKING ABSENCE from all music games.

So its possible than right? Can u hear the song n the bg or just play it?
Also would like more info. Bought RB2 but no lp dlc makes me wanna switch to ghwt if music creator means music Iwant.

Got this for Xmas, while it's a bit hard to get used to a few things after playing RB for so long, I'm happy about the game overall and love both the Guitar (sliding over frets for "pull offs" etc) and the drums (way better than RB drums).

Good times so far.

Can't wait to unlock The Volta track.

I have a question. can i use the pedal with RB drums or do they use different plugs?

I think they use the same plugs, but a different type of signal. Different enough that may put your RB drums at risk.

You can preview the song before you download it from GHTunes, HOWEVER there is no preview when you have it selected in your playlist.

wat

they were all boring and i'm really glad i didn't pay money for it. near FCed all on sightread. i'm really debating whether to sell this awful game or not because all of the DLC is terrible (except the two free songs at launch) and i don't have any reason to play it when RB is releasing Texas Flood next month.

Guys did Activision ever say something about the DLC being compatible with the next Guitar Hero and if we will be able to export songs? That prety much decides if I will buy the game or not.

I don't really care if you near FC'd them; I did too. I'm not just playing for difficulty, they were all fun to play.

Xater, nothing official. GH:M works with Death Magnetic DLC, so the tech is in place. If I had to bet, DLC will work with GH5, but no disc exports.

Oh well, I'll stick to Rock Band then and the shitty release politics her ein yurop. :(

Is there any news on if the Lips mics will ever be made compatible with this?

I'm about a hair away from buying this, and it may seal the deal.

i'm pretty sure there's no GHTunes for PS2 because of the lack of online functionality. although, you can use the music creator. some words of advice, RB2 is years better than GHWT. the band play is completely broken, the songs are really bad and easy except for about 10 good ones and the DLC is the worst DLC i've seen so far from any GH/RB game.

if you want sightread FCs, GH:WT is for you!

No, see Caprici Di Diablo, Constant Motion, Laid to Rest, Ride the Lightning, etc.

It would be ghwt for ps3 or Iwas skipping both n gonna grab a ps2 for the bedroom. Thinking of getting a SRS now. :\

i have WT for PS3 and there's a couple songs worthwhile oh GHTunes (Trogdor by rexisfed is the best) but not too much. none by the bands you named though.

GH:Tunes really isn't the "play any song ever!" thing people wanted. It's more a place for people just to try and make decent sounding songs that are fun to play. Given that "fun to play" for most people = "I like this song", it's not really for everybody.

GHtunes seems to be wonderful if you want to play something that sounds like someones ring tone. Dave you were right about Jimi, hell the whole reggae pack is really awesome.

because everyone is of the same ability, right?

So if I buy the Guitar + Game pack for 360 tonight how likely is it that my guitar breaks in relatively short order? Are there still problems with new guitars or has that been sorted out at all?

There haven't been that many guitar issues really, especially compared with drums.
