I want to punch them in the throat.

TDWP song is terrible. Not to mention that pic makes me want to punch that dude with the glasses in the face.

The other two aren't bad though.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 29, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Metal mavens, pop stars and global invaders can rejoice this May with three new downloadable Track Packs coming to Activision Publishing, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Guitar Hero(R) World Tour. The eclectic downloadable set list opens with free music from Ferret Music and Metal Blade Records, followed by pop anthems from P!nk, Angels & Airwaves and OneRepublic, rounded out with three smash hits from Europe.

On May 7th, virtual rockstars will take the stage with three free tracks in the Ferret/Metal Blade Track Pack. Fans can download The Devil Wears Prada's "Dez Moines" two days after the launch of their newest album, With Roots Above and Branches Below. Joining "Dez Moines" are "On Broken Glass," off Chimaira's April release, Infection and "Grave of Opportunity" from Unearth's 2008 album, The March.

Coming to Guitar Hero World Tour on May 14th, the Pop Rock Track Pack features P!nk's #1 hit single "So What," which landed her a GRAMMY(R) nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Having reached the peak position in various charts globally and risen to the top-10 in countless others, OneRepublic's "Stop and Stare" joins "Everything's Magic," the first single from Angels & Airwaves' most recent album, I-Empire, to complete the Track Pack.

On May 21st, Guitar Hero World Tour's global music library will continue to grow with three additional tracks from some of Europe's greatest bands. The fifth European Track Pack sees Swedish Metal band In Flames make their return to Guitar Hero with "Disconnected" from their 2008 album, A Sense of Purpose. Alongside In Flames is French rock band Housse de Racket with "Oh Yeah!" and Cody ChesnuTT's "Look Good in Leather," popularized through various commercials in the UK and Germany.

The Pop Rock and fifth European Track Packs will be available on Xbox LIVE(R) Marketplace for the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft for 440 Microsoft Points and on the PlayStation(R)Store for the PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system for $5.49. All songs in the Track Packs will be released as downloadable singles for Xbox 360 for 160 Microsoft Points, PLAYSTATION 3 system for $1.99 and Wii(TM) for 200 Wii Points each. The Ferret/Metal Blade Track Pack will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 and PlayStation Store and as downloadable singles for Wii at no cost.

New?

Just got the whole band set for 60 dollars. Guy had it for two weeks and guess he hated the drum set. Score for me. Did the first venue, so far im enjoying it. What the major problems that most people seem to have with this version? Also whats with the other weird touch buttons on the guitar? Whats their purpose?

That's the touch strip. When you see notes that are slightly purple-tinted (I think they're only on expert and hard difficulty) you can use that strip to tap the notes, rather than strum. For the most part, it's unneeded. I just use it for the cool sound effect on held notes.

Main problems people have fall from "It's not by Harmonix" to "It doesn't feel like Rock Band".

You dont like In Flames?
Not when the sentence is ended with "their 2008 album."

I haven't bought one of their records since Clayman (Tokyo Showdown doesn't count), and I haven't liked anything I've heard from them on the radio since.

ahh ok thanks for clearing that up. Well I mean Ive played Rock band and enjoyed it but I still don't see the big deal with Guitar Hero not being done by them. Its still really enjoyable imo. I say screw all the Rockband vs Guitar Hero bs. I like em both. :lol

Reroute to remain is an awrsome album in my book, although my favourite remains being Clayman. Other than that, yeah, I pretty much agree with you. I would have gone nuts for Bullet Ride, Cloud Connected, Free Fall or Square's Nothing (this last one above any other). There're a lot other songs that would be cool by them too, but not Disconnected.

BTW, today I got my second kick pedal. Now I have to receive my yellow cymbal (it broke).

Lol what a terrible month. They would release an IF song from A Sense of AWFUL seeing as in GH3 we got TTL from Come Clarity. They just get worse and worse every album, their best being The Jester Race. Colony, Clayman, Whoracle and Lunar Strain being the only other good albums but we're never going to see anything from those albums on RB or GH. I just really can't believe they're releasing a pop pack...

Actually, most complaints I've heard is that the mic and drum sections of the game aren't all that good (but I'm no expert here), that DLC isn't well-integrated, and that the guitar difficulty has fallen considerably (this I think I can agree on)...

Ugh, I'm so sick of my faulty red snare drum. GH is all about building streaks and I can't do that when my snare fucks up half the time. Would Activision replace my drum set without the receipt? I can't seem to find it. And I hear the USB trick doesn't work so I won't even fuck with that.

The USB thing can work. It's worth a try, especially if it's only dropping one in ten hits or something.

I don't know what Activision are like, all I know is they replaced my copy of GH:2 that my 360 scratched for free, without a receipt.

During the week of E3 (that's next week!), to celebrate the launch of Activision's newest guitar game, Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits, a free song will be given away for Guitar Hero World Tour owners. Confused?

The theme song for Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits was written, composed, and performed by S.U.P.R.A.H.U.M.A.N.- Protoshredanoid, an awesome-named band comprised of members from the Vicarious Visions development team. Their song will be made available as E3 kicks off Monday, free for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace, the PlayStation Store, and the Wii...whatever.

Guitar Hero: Smash Hits demo only has three songs on it:

  • "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand
  • "Woman" by Wolfmother
  • "Rock And Roll All Nite" by Kiss

Yes, they are all masters. And note, I say "only" because they usually include four songs on their demos.

Wow that free DLC song looks awesome, I think I'm gonna have to rebuy this game for Protest the Hero so this free DLC would be a nice addition as well.

If you do get WT, make sure you buy the Bond theme as well. The verses are fairly standard, but you should get your mad money out of it trying to FC it all. It's probably my favourite DLC track to date.

Bond theme?

GHIII was my first GH, and I enjoyed playing the Wii version on Easy and Medium. This week I have the opportunity to buy GHWT+guitar on PS3 for €60. Will I enjoy it as much? Are there some flaws I should be aware of?

I read the difficulty has been toned down a bit, maybe I could attempt Hard this time :D

When i launch the game, the game freezes at the loading screen.
Did anybody ever have any problems like this with Guitar hero, i cant find any patches for the game on google or on the website.
Also could it have to do with the fact i have windows 7 64
Also why does my guitar hero 3 game not recognize my world tour guitar..?
is there a patch btw for the PS3 so u can play beatles rockband or something with ur PC guitar
