Pretty fucking good

That was amazing, The pigeon quest haha, reminds me of the 101 Dalmations side-quest in Kingdom Hearts.

You're goddamned right I found them all.
The Radcliffe's home was adorable with all 99 puppies.

Gumball has always been great, glad it's getting more love. Now if more people could start watching Clarence then that would be fantastic.

At first I kinda hated Clarence, only caught a few episodes and just couldn't get into it... then my son got into it and I was forced to watch more and finally started to see the quiet beauty of it all. It's pretty good, it's got a Home Movies-esque quality to it (not as dark or violent, of course).

Gumball is so good though.

That's pretty good, except for the parts where they SHOUT OUT A SUMMARY OF A JOKE IN CASE WE DIDN'T GET WHAT THE JOKE WAS ABOUT EVEN WHEN THEY DID VISUAL JOKES WHICH ARE JOKES TOLD THROUGH VISUALS SO THEY SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE EXPLAINED.

Really impressive visual references, kinda Borderlandsy writing.

I lost it at the FFTA2 reference.

I instantly thought of GTAIV. Those damn pigeons.

"Yes, I think most things are susceptible to fire attacks..."
That was great.
The summon sequence in the second clip was really funny.

So at the risk of CartoonGAF beheading me for being wrong...all the kids who loved cartoons in the 90s are starting to be old enough to get to do their own shows, which is why have a sharp spike in the amount of excellent cartoons since...early 2010s or so?

I think you're right on the mark.
You've basically got a bunch of skilled and talented folks who grew up with quality, cutting edge creator-driven cartoons like the Disney Renaissance films, Early Simpsons, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Invader Zim making their own shows in a world with a lot less restrictions on what's "appropriate" for kids.
It also helps that a lot of these folks are nerds who actually have an appreciation for nerdy internet fandom tomfoolery because they actually participated in it!
Rebecca Sugar for example, the genius behind the excellent Steven Universe, is an unabashed fan of Invader Zim. Like, It's pretty easy to find the goofy Invader Zim fan content she created back in the early 2000s.
Like these people know what's up, they're products of a modern connected world, and they understand how powerful the medium of animation can be.

Oh and many of them never grew up in a world without successful home video game systems, so there is an actual appreciation for the medium past "Donkey Kong and Pac-Man were fun! Remember that?".
:P

This was pretty awesome, lots of great FF7 nods here and there. I've never heard of the show before but now I'm interested in watching further. It's cool seeing RPGs getting some sort of mainstream cachet after years in the underground.

Just caught the full episode. My god, that was fantastic. Loved the whole thing, the music, the victory animations...everything was so spot on.

"We better find the AWESOME STORE before we start growing anime hair." Ha!

Also, are the summons at the end, especially the father, supposed to parodying specific summons in the Final Fantasy series.

Funny timing with the bump, as I said earlier in this thread, GAF convinced me to pick up this series. I'm now all caught up. Just saw the RPG episode last night. It was amazing!

They're pretty vague parodies, but Banana Joe is very blatantly a cactuar.

I think Mr. Watterson is supposed to be parodying the likes of Bahamut, especially Bahamut ZERO in VII
