GunZ2 The Second Duel Released on Steam Early Access (F2P)

Holy shit, I did not expect for this to have a sequel, but the first one got me hooked up due to it's fast pace. Looks like this one won't disappoint.

I remember playing the first as a kid. There were so many hackers that most matches would just be god mode people shooting missles out of their swords at each other.

I'm having problems logging in. Or doing anything, really. "Service unavailable at the moment."

I remember playing the first one years ago.

What I wanted most was the trench coat. A short while after getting it I quit the game because the K-style was wreaking havoc on my wrists.

Hopefully slashshot is still in, I miss hurting my wrist by doing awkward motions on my keyboard for hours.

You people wanted to know where devils third went? Heres your answer.

(sarcasm obviously) lol

I played the original back in the days and man that was some good times even with how janky as shit it was and if you had a bad connection forget about it.

I could never master reload-switch-shooting which cut the number of frames between shooting animations for shotguns and revolvers but required particular button presses all the while doing other maneuvers.

If I'm reading this right all that glitchy dash-around-off-walls-and-in-midair-while-shootslicing or whatever is gone in this sequel. That put me off the game years and years ago. In that case I may check it out, but it seems the servers are down at the moment.

Does this require registration on a separate site?

First my old Gunbound Classic thread pops up and now GunZ2 (which I had no idea was even being made)?

Its 2003 all over again.

Yeah baby! I vaguely remember the frantic battles in the first game. It was a good alternative to the other games during its day because it is faster and quite fun.

I could never play the original because the pc I had was too crappy at the time. Will give this a looksee and see if its any fun.

Hey, I remember Gunz! It was a big deal when they added those little goblin-things for some semblance of PvE content.
I may give this new iteration a try, for old time's sake.

Holy shit. I played this so much. I wonder if they left the glitches in that led to k-style and butterflying etc etc.

Guys, servers are up and running now.

I'm playing the tutorial level and it feels exactly the same as the original but much prettier, it's good!

Can you still butterfly, slash switch cancel (or whatever it was called)? I haven't played the game in years, but i think I still have the muscle memory to climb a wall with my sword.

I'm finally able to play. Looks like wall running got buffed at least. Now you can continually run vertically up walls as long as you keep mashing spacebar, so maybe wall climbing with sword slashes is no longer necessary. There's also skills now.

I couldn't do it and some guys (in the chat) are saying k-style is gone from the game. I find it hard to believe. In time the exploits will surface for this game.

Also LOL @ the meltdowns in the chat.

really hoping the sword/movement aspects of kstyle are in. those are what made gunz really unique and interesting imo. but judging from this thread they're gone.

weird..

Just cleared my first match

Judging by how the lobbies are responding, it'll probably be the last one of the night

I still remember when a friend got me into this game. I liked when I could do somewhat a good K-style, but I never got that good. Some months later I quit. The amount of K-style players with shotguns and rocket launchers was ridiculous in later levels, and I didn't want to deal with that, even if sometimes rooms would be hacked and we could play on some of those crazy cool maps, like the one with stairs everywhere.

Then I started playing RTCW to replace GunZ, and got into FPS's... and into PC gaming in general, and into building my own rigs...

Huh...

Thank you, GunZ/RTCW!

We are talking 2007 stuff here, damn!

And now I'm reading butterfly is gone? lol

Huh people are somehow lvl 20.

and there isn't anything in the matchmaking system to put you with people of your level.

Wow, I didn't see this coming. I was expecting to have to learn some Korean and deal with ping- wait have the server locations been announced?
