First time hearing of this game, so I will have to do some research when I get home.
30 FPS? That's weird.
I'm fairly certain that the original PC release ran at 60 FPS just fine. It's been years, but pretty sure. I might install it and see.
Just messed around a bit and it's not locked to 30 for me, at least roaming around town.
It is indeed only 1080p max.
Can't get this game to work well with my DS4 for some reason either.
I wanna play it but the controller setup is giving me a headache. u-u
I'll have to try again later.
Those HUD textures make it look like it's just running the PSP version in an emulator.
This game is so goddamn adorable it makes me wanna vomit.
Put this in your ears and you'll know half the reason to own it.
It's starting to look like maybe they ported the PSP version back to PC instead of modifying the original PC release.
Oh dear...would there be any reason why porting the PSP version works better than inserting text into the PC version Falcom already made?

You sure? Fraps tells me that it's running at 60, but it's clearly only 30 for me.
I can upload a video which I recorded at 60 fps, hold on.
I don't think that's the case, actually. I remember the PSP version had a different HUD with no visible rhythm marker, which is in this PC version. It might just be some weird side effect of tinkering with the aspect ratio.
They already need the license to publish it anyway, and I don't think re-encoding has been an issue for these localizations in legal terms (something the localizers do for their version of the game that's accepted within the original deal).Licensing and maybe re-encoding the game to run on non JP PCs maybe?
manual.pdf said:(6) “Vsync Off”. Putting a checkmark into this box will allow the video card to render frames as fast as it can. This can result in an artifact called “Screen Tearing”. Part of the screen will have part of one rendered frame, and another part of the screen will have part of another rendered frame. This results in a visible “Tear” on the screen. Some people don’t mind this look, and this will allow the computer to run as fast as possible, making the game average a higher frame rate. If you don’t like tearing, remove the check from the box, and the game will render at 60FPS if possible. If it needs to drop a frame, the whole frame will be dropped, resulting in a stutter. People have different sensitivities to this, so experiment to find the setting that works for you.

Has anyone tried forcing v-sync externally? I'm not sure it would interface with Mastiff's app the way they've intended, assuming they meant to guarantee 60 FPS with internal v-sync.
Got my code. Can't say no to a free Falcom game!
Lol, I pass then.
30 FPS? That's weird.

Widescreen support.Oh dear...would there be any reason why porting the PSP version works better than inserting text into the PC version Falcom already made?
I'm pretty sure this is actually a port of the PSP version.
There's no way that's true, after actually running it for myself. It's got all of the features the original PC version had.
I feel bad because now the PSP port thing is spreading all over the internet.
Just because they made some UI adjustments doesn't mean it's the PSP version. Unless there are a few other differences. What would the differences be from the PC OG version to the PSP version.
Because since it was announced I was always under the impression this was a port of the PC version.
Also anyone using a Xbox One controller and the game getting super wacky with it or is it just me?
I love the visual style and the gameplay looks really fun, but the trailers made the story seem offputting. Is this worth 9 bucks?
In case anyone wants to see the original 2004 PC version - this benchmark should prove useful: http://www.falcom.co.jp/gurumin/download/grmbench.exe
This is also running at 30 fps for me. Except this time my fps overlay is displaying the correct framerate.
I voted and joined the group but the Big Woof says I'm not eligible for a code. Maybe it's because my profile is private?
I'd love to play this game again. I'd also be OK with paying for it, but ATM money is tight so I'll have to wait for a sale. But hey, if you can buy this game you totally should because it is a good time.
Oh, I suppose i should mention that I have an interview set up with Mastiff about Gurumin that is happening next Wednesday evening I guess if you have questions or issues with the game ask them in this space and I will relay to the devs.
