Guy awkwardly video tapes random people

If I rang the police and told them this guy flashed his penis at me and then started filming me, would they take him away?

I still think this is really interesting. People hate being confronted with the idea that they're being watched. It's like a primal instinct that short circuits or something.

I think I wrote about this before, but the most interesting part to me is that it doesn't have to be even recording for people to freak out. You could probably hold up a piece of black plastic, like an empty phone protector, and people would have the same reaction if they thought it might be a camera(phone). Meanwhile there are 25 cameras tracking you inside the grocery store you just walked out of and you didn't think twice.

That's the entire irony in this, it's ridiculous how crazy these people get over this stuff, as if having their face on camera is somehow the most horrifying thing to happen to someone.

I just don't get it but laughs were had.
If it were me, I'd probably make a joke about it and probably tell a really messed up story hahaha

Plus, you people are forgetting that any one who actually made it onto the video was probably having a bad day.

Could you imagine this happening after a long, bad and stressful day? I'd probably react the same way.

I can see the point he might be trying to make but in that most recent video (haven't seen the old ones) he seems to be targeting pretty downtrodden folks...

Dude in the RV parked at the curb probably lives there, then he moves to a guy sleeping on a park bench, no shit they're testy.

People are getting pissed off because a complete stranger is walking up to them and shoving a camera in there face for seemingly no reason besides to be an annoyance to them. That's great that you're such a cool guy and have so many awesome stories to tell that you would welcome this dude invading your personal space, but a lot of people just want to be left alone and shit like this is going to piss them off.

Oh this thread again. Watching forum users getting all worked up about the videos is almost as entertaining as the videos themselves.

You dont' even have to say that. Just call the police and say there is a guy with a camera who is harassing people. Once the cops show up he and he pulls his confused, defiant routine they will tell him to move along.

Unless the entire autistic routine is a act and he can somehow act like a normal person.

Get over your insecurities? Move along to somewhere more private? He is within his legal rights. You'd just have to be a big boy and accept that and move on.

Not to condone roid-rage GAF or anything, but harassing people isn't cool. You probably shouldn't tell people who feel like they're being harassed to "get over themselves" -- real dick move, there.

i know it sounds crazy, but trust me on this

This is kind of amazing. Yeah he's an asshole, that is not up for debate. I kind of look at it as a social experiment. If I was just sitting down somewhere I some dude comes up and starts filming I would just talk to him. Not go completely nutso ballistic. It's more humorous than anything. I'm sure he had a fair amount of people acting normal but that doesn't make for entertaining videos.

But it's a non-consensual social experiment. I wouldn't care by myself. But I'd feel personal if I'm with wifey or my mother/sister. I really wish someone could find out where he lives and follow him around like a fucking douche all day

If someone did this, I would pull a taser and bust his ass. Dont mess with ma personal space fool. Then destroy the camera and thus evidence. How to troll a troll 101.

I was thinking about this earlier today, and I came to the conclusion that, if there is a point he is making about surveillance, it is quite flawed. Surveillance in stores and such are something you accept and trust. That surveillance keeps you safe from harm, and theres a sense of security (false or not) that the footage they record is theirs alone and they don't do anything with it.

But a random guy filming you is sketchy as fuck. You don't know what its for. You don't know why he is filming you and there isn't any reason for him to be filming you. So, his point is quite flawed in my opinion, if he is making one. Its like being offered a burger by a fast food employee vs being offered a burger by a random stranger. Which one makes you more suspicious?

I posted in this thread back in 2012 and the reactions in the videos are still the same.

The reactions most of the people featured in the video have just makes it look like they have a screw loose, or some serious anger problems.

this is hilarious, but also a bit difficult to watch.

I'm really surprised this guy hasn't filmed someone completely unhinged and gotten severely hurt.

1) Is it actually legal to film anyone in Amerca? Is it a state law thing? Here, luckily, you have the right to your own picture.
2) Do black people actually say aks?
3) Isn't this still illegal even if he can take videos? Disturbing the peace, or something?
4) Why would anyone defend someone being a douche?

Man I'd pop him good.

I cant believe no one punched him in the fucking face

Without hesitation I would knock this guy out

Sounds silly but all those CCTV systems film you all day long, that is legal. Not that it minds me. I sure as shit hope it's legal to film people, what if you're videotaping a holiday. Can't see no Americans in that video or you'll get locked up!

Shoving cameras in people's faces is another story of course.

He is saying that since there are surveillance cameras everywhere, then why is it annoying when he is doing it but not when the government is doing it?

2) Do black people actually say aks?

Are white people actually racists?

An idiotic answer to an idiotic question

3) Isn't this still illegal even if he can take videos? Disturbing the peace, or something?

Technically, those creating a ruckus would be "disturbing the peace".

4) Why would anyone defend someone being a douche?

He's making a point here, even if he is going about it in an annoying way.

Where do you live? Doesn't sound like a nice place if they don't allow you to film or take photos in public spaces. Or maybe you mean if someone takes a photo of you, they have to aks for your permission first if they want to use it for something, i.e. publish it? That's different. And yes I'm not sure this guy is allowed to just publish videos of these people on the internet like that without their consent.

It's one thing if it's a crowd of people in a film or photo. Then you don't need permission as long as they are mostly unidentifiable. But these are close-ups of single persons. Maybe it's different with publishing something to the internet in a not-for-profit manner, I'm not really sure about that, but it seems odd that he can do this without legal action taken against him. Or maybe that's why youtube took the videos down.

Yeah, he's a douchebag. A lot of Youtube prankers are actually asking permission now and some even have them sign a releaseform.

lol why are these people so angry? i'd just spit on him or throw water on his camera if I wasn't in the mood, no need to flip shit over something so trivial LOL..

edit: I love the people flipping shit in this thread too. What is the difference between this and Google Glass exactly?...

LOL i love this guy's reaction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CONgeNlxVug#t=3m08s
i love how he walks away in complete disgust for this guy as a human being at 3:55
so good

the teacher's reaction at 1:45 is pretty good too. what a boss

I think it's a public property vs private property. I saw a couple of his videos, and it seems he's asking the questions about cameras in private owned spaces. I can film anyone that comes into my house. I think. But out on a public side walk, people should have the right to their own picture. Sidewalks outside of a private property might also be subject to the same private property treatment when it comes to filming the immediate outside of a property. Not remotely sure how this works, though.

Oh, I'm sorry. Do people actually say aks?

Technically, those creating a ruckus would be "disturbing the peace".

I'm under the impression that it's not necessarily the case, as it's sort of this guy being the antagonist. I know it's probably a grey area, but if you do something that makes people yell at you, I'd think you're the one at fault. But again, grey area. Probably a judgement-call for police officers.

He's making a point here, even if he is going about it in an annoying way.

Private property security cameras are very different. If you go into a store that has security cameras, you're agreeing to be filmed. More on this after the quote

Yeah, it's about publication, but generally, here in Norway, the ruling is that you can't go up and take a picture of people without their consent. If you're taking a picture that's meant to cover a whole, then you can publish it, even without consent. So you can take pictures of a park and all the people there, but you can't walk up to a couple kissing and take a picture of them since it looked so nice. It's invasion of privacy, and I think that's guarded in some way even without the intention to publish, though I can't really remember how that works.

It's all out the window when this guy published the video, though.

Didn't youtube take the videos down on a copyright claim from the filmer? Anyway, you're spot on about crowds, and how this clearly isn't that. Internet sucks, since it depends on where you publish them, not where they were taken. But it's at least subject to the US law (youtube), so if the US law doesn't allow pictures to be published without consent, then this is illegal.

He is trying to say that the government regularly videotapes people out in public, so why is it a problem if he does so as a civilian?
