Guys, we almost had Red Faction: Guerrilla 2

From the sounds of the article, they are still planning on making it, they are just waiting to get the proper team in place.

I bought all the red faction games a week or two ago on steam for like 6 bucks. I tried Armageddon and it was actually better than I expected. The wapons feel good to use and the destructibility was top notch. Definitely prefer the more open feel of Guerilla though, and the multiplayer was actually pretty damn fun too. I'm going to try red faction 2 next. I used to play the multiplayer for it with my friend and it was quite fun if I remember correctly.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

I really like Guerrilla. I mean, the mission design is kinda lame, the story is stupid, I wasn't a fan of anything that wasn't an explosive weapon (or the black hole gun), but GODDAMN the physics-based nature of that game was and still is absolutely incredible. I still have vivid memories of a a moment where I was driving one of the SUVs around, hit a slope and ramped off of it by accident onto a bridge, which then collapsed under the force created by me crashing into it, completing an objective for me. It was a one-of-a-kind moment that made me realize how fucking cool that game was.

I was really bummed that Armageddon was a step back in almost every way, and while I enjoy the hell out of Saints Row, I wish Volition could make another game in the vein of Guerrilla.

Looks like we dodged a bullet.

Guerrilla was only good because of the destruction and solid controls.

Everything else was awful
-story
-music
-mars
-multiplayer (pales in comparison to the halflife/ut hybrid mp the 2nd game had)

Maybe if the playground was better, but mars was really boring

I don't know about the single player but we dropped a ton of hrs into multiplayer. I know I played MP til I was practically the only one left on the Objective deathmatch servers

Guerilla was awesome but Armageddon really doesn't deserve the shit it gets IMO. It's even more destruction focused than Guerilla was and yeah whilst the levels might be linear they are so much fun to tear through I didn't miss the open world so much. Plus Guerilla is the only game in the series to be so open compared to the others.

Also the Armageddon DLC has some of the best weapons from the entire series, Volition just know how to make destroying shit fun. It's not perfect by any means but it's still a damned decent game.

Armageddon is fine as a singleplayer game. It's the fact that they removed the awesome competitive MP that led me to not picking it up until it was in the bargain bin.

I'd rather have a proper Red Faction 2 with GeoMod 2. Armageddon wasn't bad, though. People should give it a chance.

I am waiting to see how Nordic will handle THQ's IPs, I'm skeptical, but I hope they have the resources and money to make a triple A game with high production values, cause their latest games aren't really inspiring confidence.
