Guys, which comics do you read? Manga aside!

Good choice. I went to Bruges just because of a Yoko Tsuno comic book that I read.
Bruges is a shithole, though

I always wanted to visit Rothenburg because of the comics. And yesterday I realized that there are still new comics coming out!

I don't know what's better, that the artist knew enough to add the fit wedge to the top of the pick axe or that he thinks that patched sack, full of gold, would be even remotely feasible to carry, or even just hold, that weight :P
That wouldn't be the heaviest thing Scrooge could lift and carry in his prime years, according to the comic :messenger_grinning:

Not exactly…

And that's not even his best effort:

Man, Life and Times and the Companion piece is some of the best comics ever made. The last part with us seeing older Scrooge and him getting his will to live back actually got a tear out of me. I'm honestly so happy that I grew up with Donald Duck instead of Superman and Batman.

Any Donald Duck/Scrooge McDuck comic by Keno don Rosa is absolutely amazing and worth reading. Even if you haven't ever read any Donald Duck. The one with the Templars is really good.

Yes, the Don Rosa stuff is fantastic. +1

If you're into more horror stuff, Something is killing the Children is also a great read. Has strong Stranger Things vibe but with a lot more gore and horror.

I'm pretty cheap when it comes to comics. I mostly read collections that go on sale on Kindle. I was a Comixology member for years before they got consumed by Amazon.

Currently reading the relaunch of The WildStorm that released in 2019 I think by Warren Ellis. It's great so far if you were a fan of the original stuff.

Just finished in the last couple of months Planetary omnibus (Warren Ellis) and the Supergirl Woman of tomorrow (Tom King).

I like Manga/anime but I am not a consumer of that media in any meaningful way.

The Wildstorm was so good. I wished Ellis was able to finish it before he was cancelled.

Just saw this pic. Man, I wish we could get proper adventure movies that were inspired by Jack London and classic comics. I'd also love an open world RDR-ish game with its artstyle.

I used to read quite a few (spawn, x-men, sandman, wolverine, new mutants etc)

But now I find I'll go into Barnes and Noble with my kids and I usually walk out with a Batman graphic novel. I've also started reading American Gods which is interesting. I also pick up The Boys if I see one.

Calvin and Hobbes is timeless.

Undisputed GOAT.
Grew with in a time/place where having an issue like dyslexia and/or dyscalculia relegated you to the back of the class to rot.
I credit Nintendo power, their special strategy guide relesaes (especially YOU Final Fantasy strategy guide) and the calvin and hobbes collections i bought at book clubs/fairs for getting me out of elementary school on pace with everyone else.

Please don't start with this particular one. Don Rosa's work has some degree of continuity and this is more or less the bookend of Scrooge's adventures. Amazing stuff.

The Sacrificers

Escape

Both by Rick Remember. Excellent stuff.
Sacrificers is high fantasy, escape is a war allegory with animal characters. Incredible artwork

Always going to plug Blacksad, which Escape was partially inspired by. A French comic made by Spaniards that homages classic noir also with animal characters. Not for kids.

Absolute batman and Absolute flash have been solid.

The ongoing TMNT book is good and recently came off a very strong arc.

Ultimate X men(2024) is a very manga esque take on the mutant story. It won't please everyone but I enjoy it.

Ongoing transformers, G.I. Joe, and Void Rivals are all great reads and part of an ongoing narrative in a shared world.

Lots of good reading these days

Asterix was great when Uderzo and Goscinny were at the helm.

I also recommend European (Franco-Belgian) comics such as Murena and the Eagles of Rome.
