I'm not sure there are enough active players, I was successful with all my attempts just now, and earned very little in comparison to what I earned in less successful runs over the past few days (using the same methodology).

Just went through 5 clean ip's and got enough to upgrade my vault to lv14 (was lv12 before).
I seem to have found some pretty decent cash cows that I can rotate through (just need to find 4 more and I'll have a nice rotation going)
 
yeah, guys, don't forget to go through some (or all) of chapel's list. I just clicked through a couple dozen and most of them worked.

I hate to spur on interforum drama, but this may be important to our continued play in this game... ATOT has noticed GAF's sudden rise to 11th-strongest crew and are considering an all-out strike against us.

NeoGAF is coming up the ranks quick, I wonder if they are using a tool that reads rank changes. We need to watch out for them either way, they already have more people than us. [Danthrax's note: LOL WUT? We don't use tools, unless some of you are doing so and I don't know about it.]

Yeah, they seem to low right now to get much out of them. If we really coordinated our efforts, we could destroy them before they rank up. However, that would be like squeezing blood from a turnip. Let's just focus on ranking up and just keep an eye on them.

I don't know, but I'm scanning their 60-page thread to see if I can find out. I think it may have something to do with a tool that sees the trends of users' ranks going up or down. They look for accounts that appear to be abandoned, then rape them.

Any of them you can hit. The highest you can, I suppose. Only do it if you have adequate defense, though.
 
I don't see the point of going after ATOT...yet. :D If we just keep adding members we will get there eventually. NeoGAF should be good for a 500+ member crew if we can keep this thread current and on the first few pages.

I agree, no point in attacking them (for now at least).
Would be awesome to have 500+ sized crew. If we keep on getting new people at the current rate it will probably take a few weeks (maybe less?)

Ok, how are point calculated?

I know you get points for
-mhz
-kbps
-credits spent on virus
-Vault upgrades (I think?)

So, how do you lose rank?
-You get passed
OR
-You sell stuff but don't buy anything

If someone is ranked highly and they lose a lot of spots, what does that mean?

Does that mean that they have sold a bunch of stuff and have a ton of credits just sitting there?
Possible scenario - You think you have enough saved up to do an upgrade to a level 7 virus (960,000), so you sell all your stuff. You screwed up and you're short just a little bit... what do you do? You don't want to buy all your defense back right away since you'll lose 25% of your credits... so instead you hold onto it and pray to god that nobody attacks you for the next turn so you can get that little extra bit to put you over the edge to buy the next virus upgrade.

Is that what's happening?

Of course this ranking is out of date now by 18 minutes. They may have gotten their extra credits by now and made the virus upgrade or they've spent all those credits. Or their vault is so incredibly huge that it's all safe.

(If you're going to do it, let us know. I don't want 10 people to waste attacks on a bogus target)

EDIT: I attacked Cyrax this round and got nothing. I don't know if that proves anything. I got 46% and that was 0.

Maybe this is wishful thinking, but maybe this last update allowed him to get the last bit of credits to buy his virus upgrade?

If he makes a huge jump next update, I think that will help confirm this theory. If he goes nowhere, then I'm smoking crack for this whole scenario.

So yeah, that appears to be the theory they're working off of. This is his Excel worksheet: https://mywebspace.wisc.edu//spmclaughlin/web/Random/HackcessToolv5.xls I'm not sure when it was last updated, though.

In any event, we can do this ourselves.

1) Compile list of every player and their rankings
2) Put into Excel speadsheet
3) Wait a while
4) Repeat steps 1 and 2
5) Excel spreadsheet calculates players' rises and falls in rankings
6) Attack people who have fallen the most
7) ????
8) Profit!

It's not just about taking their non-vaulted money. It's about destroying their infected machines, which seriously hampers their continual income. So, yes, coordinated strikes against OCAU's members would be effective with a little luck.

I know I know, but you can't register there, can you? As far as I know you have to join there via invite.
 
I was under the impression that LUE was completley closed to anyone that didnt already have access, then again i dont really pay attention to what goes on at Gfaqs, and they've starting allowing invites.

Anyway it seems like the crews ahead of us now, especially the low member count ones all have pretty high ranked users so its going to be difficult to attack them.
 
I finished reading their entire thread at ATOT. It doesn't appear they're even using their own tool anymore. At least, it doesn't appear to have been updated in about three days.

They talked a bit about making a web-based auto-updating script but don't seem to have finished it. One guy made a beta and PMed it to people but it never went gold, so to speak. So they're not garnering some huge advantage or anything.

In fact, it appears most of their members have lost interest, so a large number of their 65-player base is likely idle and ripe for attack.

Have we thought of maybe moving any important info to the Online forum? Could be a special thread for coordination on attacks or strategy? That is if no one on those other networks has access to GAF as a user which I would most likely think they wouldn't but who knows.

Other than that I think we should focus on building our own ranks, because we are in a middle area right now and the only reason we are high ranks as a crew is because we have so many members actually playing.

Yeah lets not attack them for now, i think its in the interest of both parties if we're at peace for now. Perhaps some kind of alliance to pew other clans?

Hardly doubt they do. And even if they make one it would take them months until they are accepted :lol
But again, and as you said, rather than attacking we need to concentrate on just leveling up. Too many of us around levels 300-700.
 
OCAU looks like it's dead. No one's posted in their thread since Aug. 24, unless they all PMed each other and skittered off to some sekrit forum.

The problem with that is losing activity in this thread means no new recruits. We need to keep this thread active and primary, but any discussion on attacks or things like that should be on the private thread. Just tell people to go there or link to it if you post something there you want people to read.
