Did something change since Duckroll made the Fall 2013 anime thread? In that thread it states that Ippo is airing on the 6th in Japan.

If it is airing sooner though, that's cool.

Looks like it is indeed the 6th, and the countdown site I'm using was wrong. Time to send an angry letter.

So fired up, new Ippo and new Phoenix Wright. October is 2013's best month.

Crunchyroll is showing this starting tomorrow 11am PST for subscribers (1 week wait for non subscribers)

Hajime No Ippo: The Fighting! –Rising- will be available to Crunchyroll’s viewers in the U.S.A, Canada, UK, Ireland, Iceland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Central and South America, and the Carribbeans.

Finally

It's been so long since I've read some of those chapters that it will feel fresh when I see them.

I think Ippo will win his current fight in the latest manga chapter

I don't care how weak he's supposedly gotten... You underestimate Ippo, you go down! Even worse you cause him to regain and triple the strength mid epic fight

Seems like the season will cover the fights I've read through these past weeks. Kind of a bummer, but about what I expected. I just couldn't wait any longer.
Doing the transition from anime to manga was hard at the beginning though, I missed all the sound and music that adds to the excitement (and their voices I've grown so accustomed to), but getting used to it. And yeah, it's awesome. :D

It's been difficult for me to get into New Challenger because I watched the original series dubbed. I hate switching from one audio track to another mid-series, but they never dubbed New Challenger as far as I know, and it doesn't look like they ever will.

Could someone tell me if the first seasons of HNI are on CrunchyRoll please? I'll subscribe right away if it's the case.
Nope, they aren't on there. You'd figure they'd try to have them to drum up excitement for the new series though. Usually though anything on there except the simulcasts is available for anyone to watch, though they have ads. They aren't as annoying as Hulu though. (And the simulcasts are available for anyone to watch after like a week)

Ahh, that's unfortunate. :( Thanks for the answer.

I'm so happy they brought back some of the soundtrack from the first season. It's been a while since I've seen New Challenger, but hadn't it been completely redone then?

I hope they change the formula.. i mean JUST A LIL..

fight start > ippo get beat down> ippo remember training> gets advantage> ippo gets beat down again> ippo get the green eye > ippo wins.

< will still watch. For takuma.

Ippo did win his 3rd defense in less than a minute, I'd call that a change of formula. Ippo never gives up, all he does is train like crazy because he knows he doesn't have the arsenal that other boxers have.

true.. but still as entertaining as it is, it is the same chain of even for a lot of the fights.

The music from season one being here is amazing, such a good OST.

I different boxers give HnI diversity, the manga is 1000 chapters long and it still surprises me from time to time.

I'm glad its back but it is weird to watch the anime when it's so far behind where the manga is. I am hyped to see these fights animated though.

YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
I didnt even know that this was happening...
And will have something to watch after Attack On titan good anime is good this year :D

Agreed. I loved that they brought back music from season 1. I'm also liking the art style. It looks very clean compared to the blurry mess we see from other anime.

Regarding the story... holy crap they jumped into things fast.

I ABSOLUTELY CANT WAIT FOR SAWAMURA.

1st ep was great----been too long since the last animated Ippo bits continuing the grand story. I mean, there was no better way they could have spent the time for the first minute or so of the episode from the very first moment!

Manga spoiler*

Does any of the manga readers remember at what point we will see
Aoki as broccoli man?
And I'm glad the show is back, hopefully it gets steady production from this point onward, I can't deal with multi year breaks.

I think that might actually be this season dude.

Nope, that guy was way early on.

Itagaki is the one with the family that has terrible puns and the odd looking dad.

That was a great start to the series. Love the animation and the flashback, so heart wrenching, just like in the manga. Kamogawa's new voice actor does a pretty good job of sounding similar to his predecessor.

The opening title animation was fantastic (Ippo's red eyes at the end was great) but is the music terrible. We're just never going to get anything as good as Inner Light are we?

I'm kind of amazed they got right to the fight in the first episode. Its been a few years since I read those chapters but I'd swear there was a little bit more build up to the match against Iwao. Not that I'm complaining since they managed to get across the same points in a condensed manner.

I was surprised about it as well, it also seems they aren't going to waste much time with the fight.
BTW Is the whole show up in Crunchy or just this season?

Just this season.

Yeah the buildup was very quick. And I just got down watching New Challenger last week, so it wasnt a time elapse issue.
