Hajime no Ippo: Rising |OT|

Uh so... they're really rushing things, huh? They barely introduced Ippo's challenger before starting the fight. I remember it being a lot longer in the manga. Also, thinking back to the manga,
didn't the coach have Ippo specifically doing a lot of cardio training before the fight? Wasn't even mentioned in the anime.

Anyway, I hope they slow it down somewhat in later episodes, the build-ups are part of what makes the fights so great IMO.

YES! That's so cool. Kids on the Slope is the only show I've watched in like 5+ years but I will definitely try and tune in for this.

Despite how quickly it moved, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Extremely happy to see more animated Ippo. I lost my place in the manga months back so once this season is over maybe I'll jump back in from that point.

I'm not a big fan of the OP or ED however, neither have that catchy high intensity feel like the others.

This fight wasn't all that interesting in a first place, especially when you compare it to upcoming events. So I'm all for gearing up the pace. But I do hope they slow down after the fights are over. There is so much great stuff coming up and I'm not just talking about the fights. I always liked the comedic chemistry between the characters during training and off training, so hopefully they won't skimp on that aspect in order to get more fights into 25 episodes.

And in new challenger they pretty much skipped out an anything Itagaki. It was like hey im at this gym now brahs. But most people hate him.

So much wrong in this. Itagaki is such a good character in the manga this make me weep.

Anyway, I'm not feeling the OP & ED of the show but that's neither here nor there at this point.

I say bring on the Ippo!

Spent the weekend marathoning New Challenger so I could start in on this. Just wrapped up about an hour ago. Takamura vs. Hawk was pretty good, and lol @ Itagaki's family.

same, glossed through the original series and marathoned New challenger to get my hype off pokemon. About to start to the first ep pretty soon, just need to wait on the new manga chapter now :V

For some reason I though new challenger ended way, way further into the manga than it did.

Thats what Im saying brah. I enjoy Itagaki, its just in New Challenger the brah is basically a background character. He joins the gym nonchalantly andonly has one moment the entire season. This is for anime viewers. I enjoy Itagaki, there are alot of people out there that hate him though.

I still have to finish the first season. I was on a roll watching episode back to back and all of sudden, like I always do, I put it aside for other stuff. Well I seriously have to catch up big time because I have the first episode of Rising sitting in my laptop, waiting to be viewed.

First ep of Rising was good. I assume there will be more build up for future fights, that they just wanted to jump right in for the 1st ep.

You've still got a ways to go if you're on the first season. 1 special (optional, I guess) 1 movie, 1 OVA, 2nd season, THEN Rising.

so Ive been watching through the begginings of this show with my GF (even though i've read the manga)

just wanted to share this

Good episode. I'm glad they wrapped this up fast, but I'm starting to wonder how much will this season cover. Maybe we are going to get OVA?

Dempsey Roll stays getting exposed...i know coach keeps saying he'll be broken when it fails him too much but he's hitting a wall with that one-trick pony move, Miyata's gonna pick it apart if he doesn't step it up!

man i'd better read the manga sometime

I really hope they make at least another season of this (and not several years from now). Been reading the manga and there so many awesome fights later on. At least it seems we're getting Sawamura. :)
Also, regarding the manga I just finished reading the fight between
Sawamura and Mashiba
. Wow... what I wouldn't give to see it animated. Also, Ippo's fight against
Take
was surprisingly cool, one of my favorite matches so far.

So ive been marathoning this series since rising has started and have been really enjoying it so far.

Great second episode. So far I'm enjoying the pacing and animation more than New Challenger. I also think it's a better adaptation of the manga. Nothing will touch the first season, though.

Also, the next episode is going to be hilarious.

Don't post illegal link at here buddy. Or you gonna got banned.

Btw not surprising they cutting the off-fight part at this point, those thing getting lengthy at this point.. Which is a shame I actually enjoying those more than the actual fight.

I did say no more manga comparisons but this is kinda bad. Story before Aoki's match was important and should have been in the anime. Some of my favorite episodes from first season were the training camp episodes and training episodes. I'll probably just drop watching the show since much of the funny stuff and character build up has been dropped in order to get more fights in.

Yeah, seems like they're rushing through (or rather skipping) the pre-fight stuff once again. A shame really, those moments between fights usually add personality and depth.
I still enjoy the episodes a lot, but this makes me worried they're trying to cram as many fights as they can into 26 episodes because they're probably not making another season after this. Hope I'm wrong though. :/

Its a shame, but like I said before.. those off-fight period getting really lengthy at this point, I'm trying to re-read the manga part that they gonna cover for this season, and the off-fight session can take a volume.. which is about 3-5 episode, if they go with the original/new challenger pace, which for me that isn't good for the anime interest to attracting new audience for the manga.

And that isn't too bad of idea to cut some padding in the manga tbh.

Ok, when he got hit by the second one, I lost it. Whole house is wondering what's wrong with me
