Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming |OT| PC/Steam - April 4th

I have learned a lot from this launch :) Thanks for appreciating the work we did!

count me in on the people that really appreciate this getting a release. For me this getting a release was bigger news than last of us on ps4 :p
as long as companies keep releasing niche japanese games on PC, I will keep paying for them... if my past history with money related to niche games is anything to go off of, I am a complete idiot when it comes to supporting companies that bring them over :p *looks at the collection of unopened NisA limited editions that are around the house that will likely never be played >.>*

keep up the good work, especially since it makes birthdays easy as everyone this year will just get half minute hero 2 MWA HA HA HA.

Is there any way to see titles or equipment you missed in prior levels, like the first game? In fact, how do you even see what titles you have already earned?

I'm really not understanding how the skill system works. It talks about classes, but I don't see classes anywhere. Does that mean my character needs to change classes? Does it mean that I need allies of that class. The skill tutorial doesn't really explain anything.

You'll unlock classes later, same for the ability to see titles. However, I don't think there is one for equipment.

Ugh, Yuja is so annoying and I don't know how to activate Q37. I can see the red crystals though. :(

Okay, I'm done. Got all the titles and did all the achievement stuff I could until the DLC comes out. I'll wait to craft all the weapons until I replay the whole thing or someone releases a guide on where to find each weapon because I don't remember where you get most.

I finished the game, really loved it, and I would like to unlock 100% of the stuff... except.... the later floors in the bonus dungeon are fucking BULLSHIT. Having entire floors with those big enemies which kill you instantly if you touch them makes it pretty exciting, except when you have bullshit traps at various points or segments which require really precise navigation. It's nice that there's some sort of challenge, but it's not so nice when a minor input fuckup could mean having to go through all the boring floors again and again just to get back there. Total bullshit! Lol.

That's cool, but I'm kinda burnt out.
There's also some weapons I'm wondering if I'll be able to get again at all. That is, those given to you by the Evil Lord for getting titles.

It's definitely difficult, but there's only really one room I'd say there's a bullshit trap with the giants. The rest have some type of warning for how/when the giant will chance you or it's simply up to timing & control, both situations which have earlier versions with the small monsters.

Plus really good for leveling up your global level.

My global level is already like 86 or something, so it's getting pretty pointless. 999 HP, lots of great equipment, skills triggering all over the place, etc. The bullshit might only be one small area, but it can be pretty frustrating when it took me 5-6 tries to get to that area because for some reason I kept missing the right turn in the area just before that and getting smashed by a giant enemy, only to get trolled and wiped again. Lolol.

Are there secret achievs on steam? 29/32 right now, but I'm only missing the DLC one and Infinite Battle Hard. :(

I was going to platinum this game but after losing @lv205 on infinite normal with 26k left RIGHT BESIDE A VILLAGE, I don't want to play this mode anymore.

That's cool, but I'm kinda burnt out.

Just unlocked the Crafting Mania title, you only need to craft everything once, even if it is used to upgrade something later and you lose it.
Used this guide with google translator: http://wiki.mmo-station.com/msData/list/30second/11307

I think that's the one I was thinking of.
Oh, I managed to open the chest, but then lost the item and didn't even try again, a couple of stats won't make difference.

There's a secret achievment, yeah.

It's for listening to a song in the goddess room, not sure how you unlock it, but I'm guessing you probably already did.

You can see secret achievements on Steam if you go the achievement page and then to the global achievement stats.

Put this down for a while, but finally finished overture. So glad to be rid of Yusha and co. (except Ultros!) Revolution is a nice change of pace, and the music is godly so far.
Also, slight spoilers:
I pegged Yashu as (the beautiful) Evil Lord pretty early on. As would anyone I guess once they saw the silver hair, obsession with the Queen, slightly narcissistic personality, etc. Maria the bat sorta sealed the deal. Then the bat cape, stupid cursed sword, immortality, etc. Damn, so tragically cool 😭

Wow the Demon Maze is sort of retroactively making me hate the entire game. Like maybe if the various teleporters you come across were two-way and you could skip back down to where you were, that'd be fine, but man having to constantly walk through all the unavoidable encounters on the first ~5 floors is an exercise in tedium.

Sorry last set of friends, I guess y'all are just gonna have to stay dead because I have zero desire to deal with floors 20+

Edit: Wait, sorry last two sets of friends. I died after getting the third time stone.

I have all the titles I can possibly get from the previous chapters (there are like... three in Ragnarok that require a certain level of skill that I do not possess), so it's not like I'm not super into this game.

Can anyone tell me how many quests are in the campaign or how many hours it took you to beat it? Not a completionist file, just beat the final boss. Game is a lot longer than I expected and my game time is slim right now

I'm like 10 hours in. In the middle of Revolution
did a mission where I had to run from a tentacle monster in the lab

There's
75
quests in the main campaign, across all the parts, although there's some you can miss/skip and still reach the end.

I just beat Revolution

You're damn fucking right I waited for Geezer! FF3 (aka FF6) was my first RPG and I didn't know you could save Shadow by waiting. During the end credits it just shows a memory of him and I always felt bad. Months later, the kid I borrowed the game from beat the game in front of me with SHADOW ALIVE and I was like wtf. I never forgave myself for that so saving Geezer was a "Fuck yeah!" moment for me

Last time I checked on steam this game got listed but wasn't available for preorder. Now I see it's been out for 20 days already? Where have I been

So I'm in that optional dungeon at the end.

I got to the part at the end where there are some number of gates. I was able to open one because I found a heart shard, but am I supposed to find the others? I feel like I've been everywhere here. I've gained like 80 levels in this place and have probably nerfed the difficulty of the rest of the game. Do I need to advance the story or are they super hidden? I already found all four stones.

So I managed to beat the main game earlier today after taking a bit of a break... yeah, I agree with everyone else here, the post-game dungeon is wack.

Each set of levels has a heart stone in it; they're in the final global dungeon. The fourth one is wack since you have to fight a character that randomly shows up in two dungeons, and then complete a side quest during Ragnarok. There's a guide in the Steam Community group that tells you where they all are, but it misses the fact that you have to win a second round of fights at the original Coliseum before the fight at the Underground Coliseum is available. (The first Coliseum is in the area where the Venus 7 fights start, the second one is on the racetrack continent, and the final one is in the Contract Tower.)
(and lol @ link anchors showing up in spoiler text anyway)

Wow, fuck that! I just sleep-ran through the end of the game with my ridiculously overpowered heroes. That'll have to be enough.

Finished up the Demon Maze (which sucked) and the bonus stage (which was interesting, and damn hard until you figure out its gimmick). All that's left is finishing one cycle in Infinite Battle on Hard... or that's what was left, anyway.

E1StGCq.jpg

Not as hard as I thought it was -- the biggest issue asides from your runs being less efficient is that you have to avoid doing something stupid in town that gets you killed.

Honestly, after having played through everything, I don't think this game was as good as the first one -- the level design was more interesting in the first game, and it felt much more tightly tuned, as well. However, I'm glad that the game was ported, localized and released (with a damn good port, as well) and I'm glad I got to play it.

Congrats.

I'm hoping to dive back in this weekend, I haven't had much "good" time to dedicate to this for weeks, it's sort of frustrating.

Interesting interview reports that there could be another sequel on the way if this one sells well.

I think we all need more 2D RPG games with Oculus powers. Maaaaaan.

Playing through the DLC now, it's a lot goofier than the main game (which is a good by me). Pretty fun DLC, and makes me wanna go for completion now too.

What's the fastest way to increase global level for demon labyrinth? I'm at about 50 right nnow, wish there were a fast way.

Ooh, free DLC! And now I can finally get that last stupid achievement.

The fastest way is... the Demon's Labyrinth. Just keep going until you eat it, any items you picked up are lost but you keep the levels and money gained.

How do you actually access the dlc? I didn't see it in the main menu and didn't have enough tike to go in game, do you actually go into ragnarok and revolution to find it?

I think it's time to recognise my limits and leave the Demon Maze for what it is. I'll check the DLC out over the weekend. Overall I had a pretty good time with it, but I can't help but feel that most of the changes to the formula were not really for the better. I liked the variety of the different modes and the more playful, brief tone of the original than what the sequel offers.

Still one of my favourite games of the year thus far though.

Go into Ragnarok or Revolution, find a Goddess statue and go into the island warp menu, at the very bottom should be a new island which if you warp to will start the DLC missions. I have finished both Rag and Rev by this point so I'm not 100% if the new islands appear if you haven't finished them but I presume they will do. I took a while finding the new missions.

Thanks! I should have thought of that before

How expansive/fun is the DLC, and how much will it eventually cost? I wanted to wait for the game to be in the sub-$10 range to buy it, but if the DLC is substantial I might buy the game now to get it for free...

I just beat both of them, good stuff. The sexy quests was good for lolz. The Feudal 'Zapan' quests were good for challenge. I had to retry the final one maybe 8-10x
I couldn't get all of the castles either, I had like 2 to go but I couldn't keep up with the Time Goddess' inflation rate by then, had to go for the kill

time really flies when I'm playing this game. I want to say 60 min total including retries? It's 6 quests so however long it took you to beat 6 in the main game.

Okay, I just bought the game...! Can't wait to try it. Will the DLC be automatically installed?

if i were to buy the game now, but keep it in my inventory as a gift, if I were to gift it to someone at a later date, would they still get access to the free DLC?

So. For the Playfire Rewards...

How to get the achievemetns for Casino Time and Gone Home? How will I get these titles?

If I remember correctly I think Gone Home is for going back to the hometown in Judgement.

The casino one is for getting 3 wins in a row in the casino or something, but the casino is in the Ragnarok chapter which is quite a bit into the game.

Finally grabbed it since it's on sale. Comes with the first game and the OST, too.

Only reason I delayed is because I have the PSP version as well.

Yeah. Got both achievements now.
Thanks~
