I've only played the new WoW expansion so far this year, so I guess I gotta say that. ;P

Every game I really want to play comes out in September. Control 2, Valor Mortis, Silent Hill: Townfall, Bloodwalker, Onimusha.

And some in October, Phantom Blade 0, and I might check out Lords of the Fallen 2(big maybe). And perhaps Mortal Shell 2 when it comes out.

First 6 months has been weak.

RE9 the bright spot but not as good as prior RE games so I wouldn't give it GOTY.

Here's hoping the 2nd half of the year brings the heat.

Resident Evil 9 without a doubt. For lack of a better way of describing it, it felt so 'video gamey' whilst also being cinematic at the same time. It was perfectly paced and I just had a really great time with it. I feel like it has been ages since a AAA game impressed me and Capcom really delivered.

I have mostly played remakes, early access and games I would not consider GOTY material. I am going to throw Pokémon Pokopia out there for now.

Big budget - RE9
Indie - Slay the spire 2

Overall haven't played that many new games this year. Have a feeling that Dawnwalker will proibably be my overall GOTY by the end of it. It rapidly climbed by hype ladder after the recent reveals.

Biggest Surprise
Pokopia: I was absolutely hooked and didn't even think I'd pick it up.

Biggest Disappointment
Forza Horizon 6: my save got corrupted and I lost everything. Microsoft never responded to my ticket.

Most Fun
LEGO Batman: I love LEGO and Batman and this game hits all of the right notes perfectly.
007 First Light: makes you feel like such a bad ass.

Best Art Direction
Pragmata: I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi

GOTY (So Far)
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined: it's the only one I've beaten. It's not perfect by any means, but I loved it.

RE9 for now with Bond / FH6 a close second.

I havent played pragmata yet at all, and I own it plus I need more crimson desert time. But so far its RE9 for me.

When I completed 007 last week, that was for sure my top pick. Now, I'm deep into Gothic Remake and that takes the cake by far. Gothic Remake is one of the best RPGs I've played in a long time.

Even though I only played it for like 20-30 hours, I think Pokemon Pokopia is still the best release of this year so far. I get it.

Mina The Hollower, RE9 and DQ7 Reimagined is my personal Top 3. I feel like they'll all be replaced by years' end.

Marathon is easily the worst "big" release of 2026.

Pragmata pretty easily for me. While I wouldn't say 0, I think the changes of another game passing that for me is like on-existent.

Tbf though, I haven't played RE9 yet because I haven't gotten around to RE8 yet

Easily RE9. It entertained me, challenged me, and scared the bejaysus out of me. Finished it without any other distractions.

I enjoyed many hours of Crimson Desert, but I got to a point where I couldn't be bothered anymore. I'll probably go back to it at some point.

Bond is decent, but I don't think it's as engaging as RE9. I get a bit bored during the beginning of each new mission when I have to piss about ear-wigging and stuff. Plus, I haven't finished it yet (just begun the Vietnam mission).

Saros is a fun game, but it hasn't really hooked me like Returnal did.

I think that's it for 2026 games so far.

Probably Crimson Desert for me, although RE9 is a close contender.

Also really enjoying Gothic Remake right now, and Pragmatic was great. Been a pretty awesome year so far with lots more great stuff to come.

Controversial but my current top 3:

1. Marathon
2. Tomodachi Life
3. Mewgenics

I still dying to play Pragmata though so who knows if that finds its way ahead of any of these once I finally do.

Pragmata... but it's so, so close with RE9 for me.

While we're mentioning great 2026 releases, I think Cairn and Esoteric Ebb should get award nods for other catagories.

None for now tbh, all the big hits i played were very flawed.

With a gun pointed to my head, I guess one between crimson or saros or requiem (but really none of them)

Pragmata for me...

Saros was great but the plot and story things as well as toning the difficulty down made it just short of pragmata

If it wasnt for those things it would be saros

Haven't started 007 but im hoping its IO doing their magic
