But I'm not a kid either. So here's what we're doing, we're putting a kid at the standard of an adult, and fucking shit up for it, and then thinking we're cool for that. What a joke. Makes no sense. The world is turning into this conservative jackhole where everyone has to be these obedient little drones.

Ahh well, at least it was enjoyable while it lasted. I'll go tell mommy now about evil kids on the internets violating big NDAs.

The kid (however old he is) is smart enough to know how to webcast this live (which shit, I don't even know how to do that) and set up multiple Live accounts, he knew what the fuck he was doing.

As was mentioned, his name was posted RIGHT UNDER THE STREAM.

Dude, you're 21, what the heck were you doing posting the contact infos of a kid; you even mentioned calling him for gods sake. Grow up, it was just a kid playing a game; and you got all internet detective on his ass. Microsoft didnt need you to trace him.

This will in all likelihood be a positive experience for him, long term. If it teaches him some respect for committments made (like an NDA, notably the Agreement screen he happily thumbed through each time he launched the beta) at the expense of his XBL account (his machine is almost certainly banned at this point), then perhaps he will think before he acts in the future.

And it's not like he or his parents are going to be hauled out into the street and beaten with sand filled hoses. This stuff is taken seriously, but there is not a violent, life destroying engine roaring to life somewhere in Redmond. Myself, I didn't see malice here, I don't expect a followup investigation will reveal any, just ignorance of obligations. Every leak is handled on an individual basis.

Now, on the other hand, there may be some unpleasant short term consequences for this fellow not having taken precautions with his personal information, but that's really beyond our control.

Oh he knew to set up his website with domainbyproxy? Did he also know not to click the blade over and over again and use an arbitrary nickname rather than something trivially guessable (even with the poor image quality)? He made so many mistakes that it's not even funny.

and WEBCAM MAX

me: so was it worth it?
him: lol
him: worth what?
him: getting my 1 of 5 accounts banned?

Not sure if he understands the gravity of the situation. I doubt anything too bad will happen, though. His dad isn't going to get fired or anything.

I think his MS parent should lose take-home beta privileges from here on out.

Yeah, I don't think he did either, if that is his response.

In reality this is lots of free publicity for MS, so I don't really care so much, I don't think anything bad is going to happen. It's just the ardently corporate mentality that so many people on the internet have. So depressing. Anyway, I'm out. Enjoyed the show. :D

You really are paranoid. :lol

I think you'd best be served by evacuating the internet till you finish the game, no offense.

If MS parents are only given limited content then I think they should continue. They do help polish the game.

I wasn't being serious. It's a halo2 leak joke about a douche from another forum.
I guess it didn't work.

My heart would stop as I would suddenly develop Super Diabeetus.

My dad knows Brimley personally. Strange as it may sound Mr. Brimely was a regular customer of my father's IFA (Intermountain Farmers Association) store in Riverton, Utah. I think my dad's been hunting with him too. I know he bought saddles and horse vaccinations from my dad's store. Those are some big shots.

Sounds reasonable.

How did he get approved so fast... others take a long time.

You get "approved" instantly if iirc, but it doesn't let you post, make threads, or search. I know my name would pop up on the bottom long before I could post.

To answer your question Wilford Brimley and I were college roommates when I was just starting college. He asked if I would help him start a business. We started planning what would turn into a grand Grocery store, but alas it fell through as he began work on Star Wars - Ewoks Adventures. The night he left, we had a fight. It turned into me not wanting him to leave. At this point we had purchased a log cabin in rural Idaho. Through my tears I asked him not to leave. He said he had too. It was for the fans.

"But what about US!?" I said muffling my sobs.
"Us? We'll always be together. When you are home sick, watching the price is right. I'll be there. Or you could always pop in a copy of Cocoon. But the point is that we are always together in spirit. I'll be back in time. Wait for me. Honor me in a way you find fit. Just not voodoo."

And with that he stapled my shirt to the wall leaving me trapped until I broke free using kerosene bottles. By that time...it was too late. He was gone. That was 20 plus odd years ago.

I post these pics with love. Thinking back to the days we would go mattress testing, or on a roller coaster only to test out what a balloon looks like when you go on a loop.

He'll come back one day. I know it. He promised. Until then I will honor him in Mah Brimleys, and spread the love throughout the Halo community.

"These are my testing supplies"
-Wilford "I know it's right because I followed my nose" Brimley.

come home...
