Yep. In EGM, probably see some stuff and things in other places, too.

Early French leak of game confirmed.

Oh yeah, after this thread there's a GREAT chance Ill be posting links to this site again. Maybe Ill start to spread word about worthplaying.com or another under-the-radar site.

Where do you go for YOUR news Luke?

does he not know?

anyways, the whole world can say they were unimpressed with what they saw. it's not going to matter to me. this game has been pre-ordered a LONG time ago (Legendary of course) and nothing is going to change my mind about buying it.

i'm too hooked on the story and the anticipation is killing me!

this game will not disappoint.

You should read what he wrote. The first two sentences sum it up:

There’s little doubt that Bungie’s anticipated third and final installment in the Halo trilogy will be amazing. However, the game’s E3 presence was a big letdown.

He was disappointed that Bungie showed so little of Campaign - a small part of the opening tutorial level, behind closed doors non-playable (for the press, jus a demo). It's less a judgement on the game, than the amount of it they showed.

i wasn't talking about the link. i was talking about what davepoobond wrote. i don't know if i read it wrong or misunderstood but he made it seem like he though Stinkles was a part of conspiracy.

i could be wrong though haha

Honestly, it was my most disappointing game of E3 as well, if only because I had such high expectations for it (like a playable demonstration that would blow our minds). It doesn't really matter though, since the game will still be great.

Yeah the game had a poor showing at E3 thats for sure... I was pretty disappointed with Bungie... but I suppose its more important they focus on the game and not on some demo at E3.

Yeah, I'm still a bit confused on why they showed what they did. But they said it was too deep into crunch time for them to put together anything, so I guess that shows that their priorities are well placed.

I'm looking forward to getting the new EGM and reading about Forge. It's hard to believe the game comes out in a little over eight weeks. Things are only going to get more exciting from here.

Also, Karma plz change your avatar so I can sleep tonight. kthx

Not until I see my Halo 3... will this avatar vanish.

I had my Halo friendly avatar up for E3... and alas did not see what I wanted... so now you get the staring glare of Mr. Richard David James to haunt these Halo threads.

I share the same disappointment. With both Halo 2 and Halo 3, I tend to feel like the pre-release hype was mishandled (and not because of the "Earth War" angle taken on Halo 2). All the multiplayer focus just doesn't really do it for me. IIRC, you aren't much of a multiplayer guy either. I didn't even bother buying Crackdown...

Bungie seems to think it'd be the end of the world to show us the Campaign, though.....when they keep so much of that stuff secret it's kind of hard for your excitement to find any traction.

+1 im not feeling Halo anymore either. Dunno, feels nowhere near as exciting as Halo 2 pre-release

Personally, I loved everything I saw of Halo 3. Of course, it could have been better, but I'm perfectly content with how everything turned out.

People expecting a Killzone 2-level of excitement were setting themselves up for disappointment. We've played the game.

Halo 2 reveal is probably one of the best moments in gaming for me, it blew everyone away. Not getting that vibe from Halo 3.

But then, i felt like this about MGS3, which turned out to be the best MGS yet.

The problem is simply Bungie signed a deal with EGM for exclusive single player coverage... so I think until the embargo is up... Bungie can't be like "hey fans we know the trailer wasn't enough so here is a video of the demo we showed the press!"

We are like right now in the eye of the hurricane and the arc is just getting warmed up for ultimate sploogeness.

Just a little longer people.

If you play the new trailer in reverse, there is a hidden message in the music.

If you don't maintain a 2:1 kill to death ratio in multiplayer, Halo 3 will brick your 360.

Were you talking about the Halo 3 trailer Thoren?

Thoren may have been talking about the Halo 3 trailer.

I think everyone else in the thread was reacting to either the walkthrough (if they were there) or impressions/description of the walkthrough.

I wasn't talking about this thread, I was talking about the Halo 3 situation in general. This thread in some respect just helps to perpetuate it.

My impressions of the impressions of the walkthrough are that Halo 3 will be good.

Well if every impression of the walkthrough described offered up generally the same info (which they did, minus subjective response), and you didnt care for anything you read, wouldnt you be disappointed?

I mean, no one is stupid or judgemental enough to say Halo 3 had a disappointing showing based solely off of a trailer when they know that there was more content to be seen behind closed doors....right?

Nope. I liked what I read (and heard). I didn't really like what I saw, however.

Wait, so Frankie, you - as the player - can shoot down the Pelican?

Cause from my understanding, Cove aircraft shot down the Pelican, and then the player can shoot down the Cove aircraft...

Frankie shot down the Covie craft.

Gaming magazines should just die. What's the point to them anymore. Everyone is all on the internet with their phones, consoles, PCs, ice box, laptops. Casuals hit up the internet for ratings to see what game to buy next (saw this first hand). What's the point to magazines anymore? Could always blog eloquently written articles (N'Gai?). That or send their magazines out on time or somehow get mine to me before 2 weeks after I see/hear of scans from it.

The covie aircraft shooting the pelican was scripted, it had to be, it's probably part of the story. Player shooting covie aircraft down is possible, and isn't scripted.

No Halo for me ...I have xbox live silver and don't plan to get gold again. I havn't seen people going ga ga over it after e3 though... what happened?

Halo 3 won the most impressive technological feature at IGN IIRC. And wow, this thread is blatantly trolling.

"OMG HALO 3 WINS AN AWARD.. Haha it was a disappointment award! In your face!"

Edit: So apparently hes spamming his website (Which is one giant clustertruck I must say)

Cod4 won for 360, and Fallout 3 was the runner-up at IGN.

edit, I thought you meant gfx my bad.

So you had Live Gold before? For what?

Everybody till now who has seen the Halo3 Campaign Demo said it was excellent, the atmosphere, music, the extra touches that Bungie adds to its games and levels where there, not to mention colourful.

I can't wait till Halo 3 comes out. First SP then off to MP.

2 more months :D

I have wondered why Halo3 didn't show better at E3. I don't think it has anything to do with the quality of the game(fix co-op or I'll be issuing a retraction, lol).

It was almost as if MS didn't want to overshadow all of their other great upcoming titles with the Halo3 800-lb gorilla. It isn't like Halo3 needs more promotion.

Having seen the demo at E3, I dont really agree with this. I wouldnt have nominated or awarded the game anything, simply because it wasnt good enough to blow anyone away in the face of Crysis, COD4 and others, but it certainly wasnt a disappointment. The graphics were sharp, the sound was amazing, and the sheer number of allies and enemies onscreen, the gunfire being sprayed in every direction, the scripted sequences (like the transport ship being gunned down over the river) all gave the game the kind of 'epic war' feel that Halo 2 advertised but never delivered..

Just about every other magazine source said the opposite. I'll buy the game regardless because it is fun, but the media presentation didn't do the game justice, I agree. Then again, what do I know, I haven't seen the campaign mode.

Echoes of Dyack insisting "you have no chance" of knowing wtf is going on at E3. Game 'show' is a freaking iceberg - we'll have to wait for a) the games b) the lawsuits.

Honestly I think these show awards suck because it's more a questions about bias and individual taste than anything.

I think thats exactly what they did. Their 2007 holiday is stacked (some might argue, over-stacked). Halo 3 will sell itself while other games need more promotion. Im surprised they didnt give Bioshock, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey more time during their press conference, as those are the games that really need word-of-mouth to succeed with the shooter/racing centric 360 fanbase.
