That's not what that means in this context, it's to differentiate it from CG or live action trailers.
Great.

There is no need for people to call you a ps3 fanboy.

Dont get me wrong, i love the soundtrack. I bought it on itunes. But no monks is like changing the star wars theme. You just dont do it.
You wanna make new music, go right ahead. But don't remove an iconic theme song from a franchise that had millions of people humming it for days after they played the game. Its a no-no, its stupid and it makes them look cheap.
Having the main theme in there doesn't stop them from being creative with the other 21 songs on the soundtrack....
This one?

I disagree. It was a nice gameplay montage in the middle. Music was great as always. but the only good parts were Truths speech at the start and the glassing at the end.
"There are those who said this day would never come." ad still gets me pumped to this day, an amazing trailer. (Even though I enjoyed Halo 3 more than 2)
This I think has a similar effect. It's definitely going in a different direction, but the Forerunner voice, Chief, the new enemies, the feeling that MC is finally outmatched, etc all make this H4 trailer one to remember in my opinion.
I'm betting that in the final moments of Halo 4 they will actually re-introduce the theme.
Kinda like in Casino Royale where the protagonist goes 'Bond. James Bond.'.
Or the final narration in The Dark Knight.
Everyone will be asking for a website so they can give it a 11 review straight up.
Was just about to post this. It's good to give the main theme a break in my opinion. When they finally do bring it back fully, it'll be a really memorable moment. It worked great in Casino Royale, where they only hinted at the main theme before finally playing it at the very end.
It'll either be a during the story's climax or when (and if) you come upon a Halo ring.
I'm not talking about the monk chant when I say the HALO theme. I'm talking about Rock Anthem for Saving the World.
They saved that for the last part of HALO 3, so it's already been done. We haven't heard it since 2007. It's been long enough.
Mjolner mix is still the best incarnation, however.

I think this trailer would have had more impact if it opened with the FUD in space, then getting sucked into Requiem before revealing MC, etc. Also, the music could have used a little extra punch.
It weird, its like the commercials and marketing got worse compared to 3/ODST/Reach but the game got better to compensate. :lol
Sad day indeed, but Im going out on a limb and going to guess there is a 'good reason'. Still, I wish they would have dropped this bomb earlier.

At which part does it play in Halo 3?
That gameplay trailer was very forgettable. I was hoping for something more like Halo 2.
What in the fuck are you looking at? They aren't even close.
I think it was very similar to Halo 2's.
Fact is, the Halo 2 trailer had something going for it that this one could never possibly have.
The "Oh shit the Covenant are attacking Earth, must defend Earth!" a huge moment in the Halo lore knowing what happened in the first game, and also a weird kind of gamer patriotism to defend the planet we all live on....(also why the H2 announcement was so awesome, "Earth Card")
This trailer "introduces" a new enemy, and a new world, other than Cortana and Chief, there are no familiar elements for people to get that "oh shit" feeling from.
I think given that they had to make a trailer for the first game in a trilogy, this functioned quite well.
Only by Halo 5, will 343i have the opportunity to make that great "sequel" trailer. IMO. And even then they wont be able to pull the "Earth Card".
Meh, no really well done motion blur, lighting & the overall vibrant colors & environments of the 3rd game. Some minor bump in polygons for characters & textures on weapons don't make up for it.
Yep. I've been saying it all along. This game is missing Marty big time from the look of things. You can't have another HALO game with Chief and Cortana and ditch the HALO theme. It's like ditching John Williams and the Raiders march in an Indy movie.
The music on H4's soundtrack might be nice or even great compared to what people were expecting in his absence, but it's still no Marty Odonnell.
I can't wait for Bungie to finally unveil their long-awaited game, if only because I need some more Marty magic.
Imo, Halo 4 blows 3 out of the water in every aspect I've seen.
The Scanned trailer is so good. Gives me chills.

I enjoyed it as well. Really hoping the 7 minute version materializes. I think it conveys the new tonality of Halo 4 quite well.
This game looks like Reach 1.5.
Halo 3 still has the best looking graphics this gen artistically & effects-wise at least.
Having listened to the full OST now, I think I have to backpedal a bit about the original Halo theme (not) being included. It wouldn't mesh, and this really has its own flavor. It still feels weird to just drop the theme, but it makes sense in context of the OST.
There's a 7 minute version?!
Heh, I took this screenshot lol. Can't wait to do the same in...
Apparently was an error. Xbox Australia updated their Facebook page to watch 2 minute trailer where 7 minute trailer coming soon used to be. Oh well.
1 Minute!
$20 says its a dubstep trailer.
