I wish I wasn't so bad at FPSes, but Halo 5's controls are the GOAT. It just feels so *tight*.
So, as good as 4? Not surprising. 4's player base was abysmal. At first I thought they meant as good as 3, but that's not possible.
Not sure this is somthing to celebrate.
I really couldn't get into 5 mp. It didn't feel right to me. Might have been the comparison after playing Destiny I think.
Nah, firefight beta was a piece of piss because you could charge blindly into there action knowing if you died you'd be back in no time. There wasn't much downside to dying and it was almost impossible to lose.
Campaign doesn't matter. Play it for a week and be done with it. Play the mp for years.the campaign was a train wreck. no amount of free MP stuff can fix that :|

believe it or not, for some people campaign is the only thing that matters. i really don't care about MP.
I stand corrected.Believe it or not, but I actually sunk more than a hundred hours into Halo Reach's campaign.
For some people, campaigns do matter.
Multiplayer - Best in class
Single Player - Great campaign with some serious missteps
Single Player (4 Player co op) - Best fun Ive had with a FPS campaign since Halo 3
Opinions and all that
"since Halo 3" is a pretty telling qualifying statement. It's definitely not doing as well as Microsoft would like. The MP and SP aren't as disappointing as Halo 4 so that probably helps a lot. Hopefully they continue the the trend with Halo 6. 343i seems like they're finally getting the hang of this.
I really think too that the Halo 5 multiplayer should not be switched to a new one with Halo 6. For the first time in ages there is a really strong and dedicated player base and the game is also 100% valid in high levels of competitive play. To throw that away in favor of a new iteration would not only be a waste, it would be risky.
Halo 6 should have a huge, awesome campaign and a ton of new content to the existing multiplayer in the form of an expansion pack. (Of course that creates, too, some conflict with the philosophy of keeping all content that influences playlists free.) If Halo 6 were to come to Scorpio, then it should only differ in terms of graphics. And if the Xbox One version of Halo 6 had better graphics (and they'd want to update the MP graphics too), it should be done in the way of a massive update to the multiplayer component.
I don't know if some of this is a pipe dream, but the main point is that the existing Halo 5 MP and its community should be preserved, and one should not introduce anything that would divide the player base.
Halo Waypoint. Just log in and go to your service record.Kinda off topic, but is there still a place to track all of my stats and rank like I did with Bungie.net back in the Halo 3 days?

I agree. In fact, I think they should split the two into two separate items. A constantly updating Halo MP, and then the every couple years Halo SP.
Yeah, Reach was the beginning of the end.Reach started all of the problems people had with halo. Did you frequent the Bungie.net forums back then? The population dropped like a rock even before 343 took over

He's not asking for it to be removed.
30 second respawn on Round 5, plus however long it takes to run across the map either on-foot or in a vehicle, its a long time.
It needs tweaked.
Finally, proof is there. The community love it. Best playing Halo of all time, 343 really carved out one of the most refined fps combat I've ever played.
.
I can't believe that. Halo 3 sold 15 million copies, and was the #1 most played game on XBL from 2007-2009 when MW2 came out.
There's no way a game with not even 1/3 of the sales can have a higher Active Players than Halo 3 at the same point in time. (May 2008)
EDIT: Wait, since Halo 3 means it's excluding Halo 3.
I believe it. Reach and Halo 4 were pathetic in terms of Player Population after launch. Good job on fixing a problem you created 343...
