Halo 5: Guardians A Hero Reborn Vidoc

Looks amazing. Super pumped for this game. Saw some weird stuff with A.I like elites standing still while being shot and at this point you see multiple elites running backwards into a wall and getting stuck. But it is still pre-release footage so who knows, i just hope the A.I in the game can handle it being based around a squad of 4 people.
 
The graphics in this game are confusing. Some footage they shoowed from campaign looks fantastic. Other footage, looked not so good.

Either way still pumped. I don't want to wait 4 months still. Damnit.

It's almost like they were showing a lot of work in progress footage...

Anyway, shit gave me chills by the end.

Jokes aside, I agree with the people who are saying that - at least graphically - this game looks very hit and miss. Some parts are stunning, some others (explosions?) not.

well technically with the app sharing between XB1 and windows it is happening...

I don't feel like I learned much or gained any particular insight into the game's development.

Agreed. The video spent a lot of time telling us why Halo 4 didn't turn out too great and why this one is a big technical challenge. We learned that the team added some new gameplay mechanics, such as friendly AI and "orders" but other than that I didn't see much talk about gameplay or sandbox design

It looks slick and very big budget though
 
So there were a few small details I saw but gonna sleep on them, but couldn't go without pointing this out, is this how the 4th Spartan will get around on the 3 person Warthog?

Eh, that's what the first 4-5 minutes felt like to me too. It only really got interesting in the latter half.

So there were a few small details I saw but gonna sleep on them, but couldn't go without pointing this out, is this how the 4th Spartan will get around on the 3 person Warthog?

I am so hyped and got chills from watching this vid doc.

They should have showed this at E3 and had a little single player footage. (yes i know there would not have been enough time to show it, but it would have blown the roof off IMO.)

Really excited for this. It will be interesting to see how Blue team plays vs Osiris. Looking forward to all the different locations the campaign will (hopefully) visit.
 
You're going to be sorely disappointed. That's a pretty unreasonable expectation, hell at 60FPS it's nigh on impossible.

Not the whole game, just some levels with that really open feel, this is a full scale war with the Prometheans and I think they should really give the players that sense of battle.

Some of this stuff is older than 4 months and graphics can definitely get tighter in that amount of time.

Of course, larger scale battles should be implemented, I was mainly focusing on the "hundreds" of enemies at once notion. Just not possible.

I'd be surprised if not, now that each campaign mission you're going to be in a team larger than what a warthog can fit.

Game looks really good, some interesting tidbits in this ViDoc too. The campaign battlegrounds like nice and large-scale.

I'd still like a full retrospective on Halo 4 and the MCC one day from 343's point of view, one day. Doubt I'll ever get it.
 
Looks good, some big scale snippets which is what I was hoping for. Hope it all comes together well and the encounters are fun. I like the idea of flanking after commanding the team one way. How well can they drive this time. Graphics look fine.

Do we get transport hogs or anything this time, they should mix it up a bit. Still want that snow hog.

I've been a part of HaloGAF and the Halo community since 2007. Former username DancingJesus on GAF.

Halo CE is my favorite single player FPS and Halo 2 is my favorite MP of all time. I'm a tough critic on 343, but I love this series... That being said, a lot of what I heard was overly melodramatic and eye roll worthy throughout this video.
 
It looks good, but I wish they'd admit to the mistakes they made with 4 and say how they're fixing them for 5. I'm thinking of the linearity in level-design, the somewhat dull nature of Prometheans vs Covenant, the over-use of Cyan and Orange, the audio mix, the hiding of interesting story in terminals you might not find...

I think 5 looks great, I hate the removal of split-screen but Nathan Fillion almost makes up for it. Almost.

I still think spartan Locke looks too smooth, too "pretty". Maybe it's because you don't see his facial wrinkles as well.

Oh, and riding on the bonnet of a warthog? I hope we can do that. It would allow the full team to travel together.
 
Explanation of Spartans in the beginning of the VIDOC: Spartans are Adeptus Astartes. I guess this is why I've always liked 117.
 
There are so many sound bytes in this about being something to build on that it comes off as being unconfident in the game as it is. Hopefully that's not the case.
 
I couldn't get behind them calling their AI "Musketeers". Other than that i'm hyped for the campaign and hope that they fix the mistakes they made with multiplayer.
